Food is very important to us. When he got sick Abram was working as a line cook at two restaurants in Portland, ME. Leeward and The Honeypaw.

Here’s what we made for dinner last night.

On Tuesday my son goes into the hospital for 4-6 weeks for an autologous stem cell transplant with the hope of wiping out every last Ewing Sarcoma cancer cell that might have survived the 11 rounds of chemo that he’s already undergone.

Oh wow, thank you Amorak! I've been thinking about this conversation & the form of it & "criticism" since @sakeriver.bsky.social & I had it... something is shifting in my thinking... not quite ready to express it yet.

I’m grateful to be having a normally sad, unhappy birthday today compared to the devastatingly sad birthdays of my past. That said, the day’s not over!

Thank you for all you do! And for being my friend! It was an honor to get to talk about this (and other books) with you this year! And to hear you talk about books with other people.

“How are you making these decisions?” With difficulty.
“How do you feel about this?” Like a total freak.

THIS is what I wanted & most want to give for Hanukkah. I listened over 2 days: crying, learning, nodding. I feel seen & understood as a Jew in ways I never have B4. Thank you @davidnaimon.bsky.social & Naomi Klein for loosening your tongues & describing a container for hope.

Episode 118: Laurel Snyder — Commonplace: Conversations with Poets (and Other People)

I don't even know where to start with this. I wish everyone could be interviewed by a friend who knows and sees all the disparate parts, and loves them enough to make even the messes feel beautiful.

How will I ever thank @rachzuck.bsky.social for this? Please play it at my funeral.

For example, I texted a man I was supposed to have coffee with today that I’m just not feeling the enm thing right now but good luck & he gave me a lecture on nonattachment & told me to take Buddhism off my profile. So turns out enm was not the only best reason not to go out with him. #DatingFail
