I kind of approve of renaming Meath to Death though.

He’s grown up into a 7 year old who can annoy his sisters as well as any 7 year old boy.
Ours not so old (so no heritage considerations) but it was designed for an era of cheap oil so needed major refit.
We spent c. €250K to do the living areas of the house (the bedrooms are still cold!). Quotes went up by €60K as we postponed the build because our son had to spend 6 months in Crumlin
As far as I can tell they don’t even seem to live in the nicer suburbs, where they may at least have some exposure but are instead way out of the city altogether.
We had the same v gas 5 years ago. Unless it’s a full renovation a heat pump doesn’t heat the water enough to work with old radiators. It may be worth looking at changing from kerosene to propane both because propane is better CO2 wise and because it’s less smelly and noisy.
That’s true, but also a lot of decisions are made in Dublin by people who have no idea what it’s like on the ground.

When the fine is €8000 and the remedial work costs €1m, it makes sense commercially to put the fix off until you’re caught. As with many other areas, it’s somewhere where the level of the penalty needs to be looked at.
Two months of field work
Great for spotting last minute swings.
I’ve walked around Little Island (and in a motor centric way because I was killing time when my car was NCTed). It’s one of the most pedestrian hostile places in Ireland, which is really saying something.
Piss them off with a DSAR request for all footage they have of your garden.
That’s a brave statement when Jean-Michel Jarre had already released an album and two single when it was released. Both acts worked in parallel rather than copying each other but we can definitely see Jarre’s influence, especially on his fellow countrymen Air and land Daft Punk.
And it can’t even be put down to residents there being wealth and well connected as the road I mentioned is full of the same type. The only reasonable assumption is because it’s a PT project.
I’m not sure I remember this level of alarmism when they took gardens to widen the road from Broadale to Garryduff.

It’s quite the achievement to outshine Trump in the news on that.
Cork City Council doing their bit to promote walking as a way to get around the city #doasisaynotasido @corkbeo.bsky.social @horganp.bsky.social @cllrhonorekamegni.bsky.social
For context I was walking my 6 year old daughter to her music lesson. I really wanted to be forced into the road.
A bit strange for a local councillor who would know the history of the place. I wonder do many local
Councillors in Fukushima call for the reopening of the nuclear power station.
Also there was never a refinery there, just a terminal.
Also the fact they recommend portentous an algorithm means they are performing editorial tasks.
Any algorithm should be required to be published so motivations are apparent.
The first thing we should do for Meta and Xitter is make them liable for libellous or illegal content on their platforms
Historically they weren’t because it was unrealistic to staff to a level where everything could be checked. But if their AI is as fantastic as they say that’s no longer a problem
It’s proved one thing I’ve long said. There is no need for two lanes of car traffic. I have never seen a traffic jam there. But by having two lanes there is no footpath on the nothern side which means plenty of pedestrians (more than the number of bikes) in the bike lane and consequent conflicts.
The money got wasted on diesel for people who didn’t question whether a €50k pick up was a sensible thing to buy in the 2020s.
It is simply insulting that the Healy Raes, Richard O’Donoghue, Micheál Collins and the Independent Ireland to say the farmers, contractors, hauliers, and other protestors are the “real people of Ireland”. What are the rest of us? Don’t we count? Are we less Irish? #SpeirGorm
The best part is the framing of it as thought its revenge for Brexit.
It applies to citizens of everywhere but the EU, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland (plus some microstates surrounded by the EU)
Michael Healy Rae not being a minister is an unexpected bonus of the protests
No but he was actually right that RTE gave no platform to those who opposed the protests. The threats were ridiculous and typical of him unfortunately.
I’m as critical as anyone of O’Donovan. I don’t like him; he frequently makes the wrong decision; he doesn’t listen to alternate views.
However his biggest sin at the moment is making a legitimate point badly.
Tobin is actively siding with Fascists
The problem is that it could be regarded as a win for the Fascists. And while your criticism of the Government is valid, it’s hugely important not to give succour to Fascists, more so than a short term triumph over the Government (especially when current polling is not kind to Labour)
Does that mean John McGuinness can’t vote?

Surely the IT equivalent would be taking out ISP’s DNS servers.
I live near there. I don’t know how people on the school run would distinguish the normally stationary traffic on the school run from stationary traffic with a protest in it.
