Yes, I think so, I got mine from Victoria Xu

Today I discovered my office is a few doors down from John Mather, Nobel Prize winner for his work on the cosmic microwave background radiation and senior project scientist for the JWST 🤯
A screenshot of p.43 of https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Fiscal-Year-2026-Discretionary-Budget-Request.pdf showing $119.3B moved from Defense to Non-Defense.
Briefly wandered over to The Other Place to gauge the response to the NASA budget devastation to encounter a bunch of gleeful 'we spend too much money, so this is great.'
TO BE, ONCE AGAIN, PERFECTLY CLEAR, THE BUDGET REQUEST MOVES ALL THIS MONEY TO DEFENSE. IT SPENDS IT. NO MONEY IS SAVED.
Very proud of all the members’ work that went into this
STEM cannot be complicit in genocide and there is no amount of “whataboutery” or “it’s complicated” that will ever justify investing our time, money and scientific skills into developing weapons, surveillance or oppression against other people
“Giant JD Vance isn’t real, he can’t hurt you…”
Giant JD Vance:
But thankfully there are hundreds of thousands of people throughout the US, who have fought this fascist government for far longer and who know far better than any of us observing from afar how to organise.
We should all be doing our best to amplify their work.

It’s easy for us in the UK and elsewhere to want to see similar resistance as we’ve been able to enact here in Glasgow, like Kenmure Street.
But be under no illusion as to the insane levels of surveillance, power, and state apparatus at the disposal of this administration.

recent Gaza Solidarity Encampment.
However, Syracuse is also disproportionately affected by racial policing [1] and imprisonment [2], something that has continued unabated and is likely to increase under the new administration.
…making it harder for the feds to gather information (healthcare info, place of work, address, etc), find and detain people.
Also like Glasgow, Syracuse has a long and proud history of resistance, from the historical Underground Railroad to the students at SU who formed the…
Sanctuary cities in the US tend to have many refugee and asylum seeking peoples because at Local Authority level, the cities will refuse and deny assistance to federal or national level immigration authorities…
Syracuse is so much like Glasgow
For a start it’s a sanctuary city
This is similar but not quite the same as Glasgow being a dispersal city
(where the Home Office relocate and house those seeking asylum in the UK)
It has been brought to my attention that my article has been censored to exclude certain terms:

Now seems an apt moment to remind you that firefighters do a physically, mentally and emotionally draining job for wages that are barely acceptable. Their dedication is exploited.
FUCK I HOPE SOMEONE TIED DOWN JACKIE BIRD
Back again
Anyone who knows me knows how much I love to complain about America’s problems but they, and many others like them in the city of Syracuse, represent the part of America I have truly found most beautiful.
From feeding the hungry to providing a listening ear and company, to helping orient and support New Americans.
I am in awe of their dedication. They are the people I truly look up to and want to emulate.
A huge thanks to NEHDA for having me along to their Winter Multicultural event.
Dallas, John and all the NEHDA volunteers have welcomed me into their community since I arrived, just as they welcomed every single person to every event they’ve poured their time and labour into.
I'll also be working for Syracuse remotely from Scotland from Feb-April which will be sick 🏴
Most, importantly, I'll finally live in a place people want to visit, so I can pay you all back for letting me crash at your places 😅
Life update: I'll be moving to DC to work as a researcher at NASA
I'll be working as part of their Astrophysics Science Division based at Goddard Space Flight Center, returning to work on the LISA mission (so still grav waves).
It's rare you get such a clear illustration of whose lives have value in America and whose don't
Weirdest coincidence, I’ve just learned Scott:
- is also from Troon
- also got an astrophysics degree at UofG
- also lives in the US
- is also a science communicator
- also interested in LISA (which stay tuned for announcements from me on that)
fuck me, just write that you support drone bombing kids
man these starter packs are great, this one lists all the liberal cunts to avoid like the plague
