I found the show's concept of historicity quite weird. Sure, technology would be set back in a post-fallout world, but that doesn't mean that everything including culture moves back into the past. It just seems like a lazy excuse to introduce the Meiji-aesthetic and the jingoistic dog whistling.
I watched 2 episodes of this show and got a very weird feeling from the setting and the characters but all the discussions on the usual websites were just 99% glazing it but i found this blogpost that described my feeling quite well: jingoistic dog whistling
