Nobody from Target can explain why they thought ending DEI programs and cutting ties with Black businesses would have no impact on Black consumers spending money in their stores. They knew we'd stop. They simply underestimated the impact of us cutting them off. That's why it's still "no" for me.

It would be great if — now stay with me — businesses didn’t raise prices because of the tariffs… INSTEAD, they should add a separate tariff FEE at the end of receipts so people can see that it’s 👏🏾 a 👏🏾 tax👏🏾!

Lola by @karlavalenti.bsky.social is such a work of brilliance. My kiddos were full of awe & accusations & wonder at the magic possible from shifting one’s perspective. They described it as “beautiful & gut wrenching.” We spoke of grief & darkness & new beginnings & the awesome power of prose. 🥰
Today, I hosted my 2 kid book clubs. It was 2 hours of laughing & gasps & “SETTLE DOWNS.” But it was also a 2 hours to reflect on the literal & figurative power of transformations — big & small. The power of stories told & stories still to come. It was lovely.
