Buddy has always been shitty

Hearing META is increasing its AI budget, laying off employees, and Zuc n wife are closing their free-tuition school reminded me I should probably spend more time here than on threads.

Our sovereignty would be wiped. Greenland would have been taken. It’s unlikely he’d have had the chance to even attend.

If our election went the other way- the entire world looks very different than it does today.

Quite literally, in elections across the globe, every vote mattered.

I love my library. That is all.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has"

If you’ve ever needed any proof of the power of a small united group of citizens, look south to the efforts of Project 2025.

Flip the script, reverse it & read again.

I have received more 40-75% savings emails notifying me of “new” sales in the last year than I have in all the years previously combined… if that’s not a concerning indicator of the economy… 😬

Is it safe to ask for people’s favourite and recommended zucchini recipes? Extra points if it includes chocolate.

… because I’m craving chocolate zucchini brownies and will accept any inspiration for sweets 🫶

My threads algorithm is almost entirely feeding me AI and bot posts/replies. It’s making me question how many real people exist on the internet… anyone else?

Laws only work when they are enforced. Justice doesn’t just happen.

If we don’t enforce the rules, they don’t exist.

Going from Poilievre to the honourable Prime Minister Mark Carney goes to show that everything works out exactly the way it’s meant to in the end.

And we all thought we were going to enter world war three with Poilievre. What a bunch of silly gooses we were 🪿 #cdnpoli

I remember that moment solely because SNL did a skit about it 😂

Trump is so fragile

Maybe folks will catch on to the common denominator in why the Green Party failed to grow. A single seat is not an act of rebellion, it’s a declaration of irrelevance.

I sincerely hope she conducts herself with more civility than she did in the campaign.

It is insane. The party picked up momentum when they advertised less of him. I genuinely don’t think he has the support to lead any longer. He’ll be like every other leader that is forced out. Real question is: if another nutter gets picked, will progressive conservatives cut the line and separate

Absolutely! Lots to have learned and taken away from this election. I’m just relieved (vote split or not) progressives out weigh regressives. Lots of work to do!

Think of the money Canadians will save without Poilievre running up the bill #cdnpoli

Sites like 338 and smart vote became used less like tools and more like the rule of law in guiding voters. It did not work in every riding. We still need to apply critical thought & conversation to follow what we believe is best. Computers/technology are tools they cannot become the decision-makers

We’ll obviously never know but I wonder if we were less reliant on the comfort or excitement of a projection and more reliant to talking to people about platforms and what’s important to us as voters if we could find greater consensus to guide our votes.

You know, this election outcome wasn’t perfect, but I am so proud of everyone that showed up to campaign, volunteer, donate, and above all else vote! I love Canada and I’m going to work to build bridges to ensure what’s happening in the States never happens here. #cdnpoli #elxn45

It was repeated across the entire election:

Every vote counts.
Every riding matters.

And yet, people repeatedly said, 1 or 2 seats for X party isn’t going to make the difference… the polls say…

People let a computer projection guide their vote and I hope they strongly reflect on that decision

For those that leaned on Smart voting and 338Canada to make your election decisions, did you vote for the party you wanted? If not, did anything beyond the projections aid in your decision process? #cdnpoli #elxn45

You’re an absolute legend. Jim, thank you so much for this breakdown. I’m going to drag my family to dim sum this weekend 🫶

11 months ago 1 0 0 0

Agreed! We all have an equal voice when it comes to voting and I believe there are more kind Canadians looking to exude compassion as values to continue than there are the right-wing Trump wannabes. Most people keep their heads down and get it done because honestly, conflict is uncomfortable lol

Is it worth saving for the next visit to Vancouver or are our local options adequate? Reddit seemed split. Anything in particular that’s worth knowing ahead of a visit regarding ordering etc? What’s a you can’t miss item? Thank you for your help!

LIBERALS: for every one of us sitting at home and not voting on Monday, there will be three Cons waiting in line to vote.

This is not a drill.

Anyone have any tips for dim sum? It’s one food experience I’d love to have but am slightly intimidated by. #yyjeats #yvreats

Most of my neighbours I’ve spoken to are voting Liberal. My family all made the switch.

We have to vote!! Talk to your friends and family. If your inclination is to vote Liberal- consider this your permission to make the leap!

I had the Greens knock on my door today. Told them I was voting Liberal & so are my family+friends. The Gentleman let it slip that they’ve been hearing a lot of that this campaign. I’m in Gordon Head. My guess is that more people are voting Liberal than we think. #yyj #cdnpoli
