Which consultant was recommending this window to all of them?! :D

…that day-to-day absolutely has a cost. I’m not sure we ever really talk about that.
But yea, maybe it’s more of a me thing.
If your team has more than one dev, you’ll have more than one ideal experience. If your game has more than one player, you’ll have at least some contradicting feedback.
And clearly this doesn’t make things unworkable, you can still make great games regardless, but living at the nexus of….
It’s a pretty endless stream of “..but why would you want A, surely it’s much better to do B”, and your only answer is usually “yes and no” before you try to explain a dozen permutations.
And I know some folks answer to this is just “make the game you want”, but that’s just not realistic.
Maybe I’m alone on this, but I feel like one of the most tiring elements of working in design is you’re almost always trying to design for multiple types of player and their preferred experiences, but the vast majority of feedback you get is from individuals focusing on their preferred experience.
The strait is open
"We don't like Iran"
"Why has Iran closed the strait? We will open it!"
"Why wont our allies open the strait? They must open it!"
"We have a ceasefire! The strait is open!"
"Why isn't the strait open to everybody?!"
"We've decided to close strait ourselves!"
Nothing we do is better than the work of handmind. When mind uses itself without the hands it runs the circle and may go too fast; even speech using the voice only may go too fast. The hand that shapes the mind into clay or written word slows thought to the gait of things and lets it be subject to accident and time. Purity is on the edge of evil, they say.
A touch of Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology here, along with Dewey's idea of art needing to balance "doing" and "undergoing"
I hate having to do the "look, they're normal just like us" post, but sometimes you have to do that when American propaganda tries to convince everyone Iranians are "animals".
Then vs now. Such a shame.
Bra jobbat Sverige!
Features, mechanics, content, presentation...all important parts of a game, but also the easiest parts to get fixated on. "The game worked because of this mode!", "It worked because it shadow-dropped!", "It worked because of the art style!". Too few folks know where the experience comes from.
For me, so much of what is talked about here, the difference between these successes and failures, is the industry's weak understanding of gameplay dynamics. Dynamics are the glue of the experience, but frequently the least focused on and discussed side of dev.

Last night, the ISS captured a stunning aurora between Antarctica and Australia. Check out the incredible timelapse created by our astronaut photographer!
A nice breakdown of some of the design/thinking that goes into our game.

great reporting here. basically yes DLSS 5 is running a gen AI model on the 2D output and nothing more. it doesn’t know anything about the 3D scene, textures / models / lighting / PBR other than what the model infers by looking at a frame.
TL:DR, they sped up slop.

Go home Sweden, you’re drunk
🤷🏼
He was certainly afraid of Vietnam-style combat in Vietnam.
Perfect
facade (2005) screenshot with an added “DLSS5 OFF” label graphic
facade (2005) screenshot with an added “DLSS5 ON” label graphic real world photos of Tom Welling and Anne Hathaway have replaced the game’s characters
the DLSS comparison but the "on" part has a bunch of mobile adslop trappings like a "Play NOW" button and "Come Play, My Lord"
haha... oh no
Ah, here we go 🙄🔫
can't wait to see the Quake grunt looking like Steve from down the road.
I would suggest this is a more valuable Steam chart, from SteamDB. Releases dramatically grow each year but the number of new games getting more than 500 user reviews does not.

Again, leaders of other countries don’t talk this way. The glee with which our current leaders talk about killing people is not normal, and nor is their lack of concern for who exactly we’re killing. American bombs incinerated 100 kids in Minab. Were those the “right people”?
Would be amazing if we could get a direct Hamburg to Brussels route during regular working days, rather than just a night service. Going via Cologne feels needlessly indirect every time I go that route
Yea, Sweden's probably winning Eurovision again
