Watching the original 90s run of American Gladiators. Mike Adamle was perfect as the show host. He had the right level of enthusiasm and the occasional awkwardness was charming.
I also like how bright the arena is and the grid aesthetics are fun.

WWE is a wrestling company run by people who resent wrestling. It's rare to see a company be so self-loathing.
They use "pro wrestling's fake" like it's an insult when they probably love watching even more choreographed fights in movies and TV shows.
In a world where promotions habe behind the scenes shows, where wrestlers have podcasts and vlogs where they talk about the business, the people who go, "You know it's fake, right?" are even funnier to me.
I know a number of people who use the argument, "not fake, but scripted." That argument I understand because pro wrestlers really get hurt, but the outcome, story beats, and big spots are scripted.
Is it because they're bitter about his article on the Janel Grant lawsuit?
