Kagi is great. It has really good AI features and uses Google as a backend.

So very many families have "scandals" like this in their past, ~100 years ago. What a corrosive society. I hope this perfectly ordinary human occurrence didn't cause lasting hardship for your great grandparents.

That's a pretty good Willie Nelson but have you listened to the Crazy Demo Sessions?

I've started doing this again, too. A rainbow watchband, a progress pride flag lapel pin. A straight woman thanked me and said "this signals you are safe". I've gotten some friendlier service from waiters after a smile. Mostly it just feels important to demonstrate we are here and not afraid.

This post you link is outdated: I've updated it. I regularly get 100-200Mbps on Starlink. 25,000 Mbps fiber would be amazing, but it's more like 100x faster than Starlink, not millions.

Nelson's Weblog: aviation / a-good-flight

It's a bummer about the parallel approaches.

I was lucky enough to get clearance to fly right over SFO back in 2010 on a sightseeing flight. They stopped allowing those soon after when someone screwed up and there was a near-accident.

What's funny is they give three pronunciations in IPA. /ˈ(f)θaɪsɪs/ (which is two) and also /ˈtaɪsɪs/. Basically "no one knows how to pronounce this".

Do pterodactyl and Ptolemy bother you? That's the unaspirated version of the same phonemes. I guess we all agreed to just ignore the P in English.

Sophisticated drones attacked Louisiana's Barksdale bomber base - Asia Times Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana, in Bossier Parish not far from Shreveport, was attacked by drone swarms during the week of March 9. The attack

New drone freakout! This one in Barksdale. If you have any commentary I'd be interested. Here's the alarmist story getting attention. asiatimes.com/2026/03/soph...

The thinking is literally "but those kids don't deserve a steak". The fascist corollary is "maybe those kids deserve the bomb". They won't say that part out loud but they are thinking it.

Now you've got a new problem: getting the USB drive to work with Android devices and copying files to and from them.
I sometimes get Quick Share to work to share stuff. But only sometimes. Mostly I email files to myself.

I played a lot of this in an early access iteration and am eager to try it again. They changed a lot!

I love how the showrunners get his shirt off him in every episode. They know what they're doing.
The guy can act, too. And an interestingly written character.

One thing I'm uncomfortable with is how many leaders on the left are also corrupted by Epstein, like the Clintons. There's a moral rot spread wide across the Epstein class. I'm glad to see Trump's feet held to the fire but it's a wide problem.

I used to be at the Santa Fe Institute in the 1990s, then the MIT Media Lab. I rubbed shoulders with a lot of very smart and creative people. And we all went off on a lot of sophomoric bullshitting. What's remarkable about Epstein is how good he was at flattering people for it.

As an avid MeFi user for 20 years, I agree! What kills me is how smugly ignorant it is. "I never use AI and know nothing about it but I am confident it is useless and evil."
