There’s plenty of money. Pick one from tax avoidance. Tax on obscene profits. Closing tax loopholes that mean income generating in the uk is not taxed in the uk.
I don't know why this is so hard for some people to grasp. If we extend our use of fossil gas, rather than going all-out for grid batteries, heat pumps and induction hobs, we extend our dependence on *foreign* sources of gas, regardless of whether we also use the UK's last remaining reserves. 🧵

Once upon a time, the 1970's, the Government controlled Energy, Fossil Fuel, Rail, Mail, Water, Steel, Telecoms, Airports, Public Transport.
50% of the money you spent went to the Government, now it isn't even 5% and the billionaires control everything.
This needs to be undone.
1974: the top marginal rate of UK income tax was 83% + 15% unearned income surcharge.
There were no university fees & food banks, short NHS queue.
Now top tax rate is 45%.
1% have more wealth than 70% of the population combined.
13.4m live in poverty, food banks everywhere, £292bn student debt.
