TBF all - birds, bird's, birds' potentially perfectly correct in context. What kind of birds is the main question. Could it be something else?

Operation Recall: A Reminder This Easter Weekend

The countryside might look like the perfect playground but for farmers and wildlife, it’s a delicate and busy season.

Be the kind of dog owner others respect and use a lead around livestock, other animals and wildlife.

I see some discussions about the future of Bluesky. If you like people's output here, repost from time to time. That's the third least we can do.

Somebody please tell the #BBC - a thing that ‘may’ happen ‘if’ does not qualify as news - especially when that thing is entirely without consequence for literally anyone.

Daily Mail front page attacking Keir Starmer for Donald Trump’s disgusting behaviour…

This is an extraordinary front page for a British newspaper to run. Donald Trump’s delinquency, derangement & imperilling of international security is somehow a stick with which to beat our own Prime Minister, who has negotiated the current horror show rather well. It is actually sickening.

This may well be the most wholesome news on the internet today. All is not yet lost.

‘A new world is being born’: author Rebecca Solnit on the ‘slow revolution’ the far right cannot tolerate It’s easy to focus on authoritarians and their petty victories. But zoom out and the picture is more encouraging, says the woman who popularised the term ‘mansplaining’, whether it’s in feminism, or the environment, or civil rights

View of Cayton Bay - empty beach, blue sky and sea in the early morning - from the cliff top. Glory!

Working visit with Mabel to the Yorkshire coast (our favourite) with early morning walks on Cayton Bay, a seal spotted in Scarborough harbour and a super hagstone - great find!

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood shifts government language from addressing legitimate concerns to "legitimate grievances" and the legitimacy of "resentment" of asylum seekers & spending

She does contrast this with a view she will exclude as illegitimate, which is "hating everyone who is not white"

Chris fukking Mason repeating the racists' "what is known as family voting"
NO.
It is not "known as" anything, it is a phrase invented yesterday to say "foreigners, but we can't say that"

anyone familiar with British politics will know that any news that isn't entirely negative will be closely followed by a sustained bombardment of misery that will make you want to fucking die. but currently it's Friday, it's payday, and the fascists have lost

Thank you for paying attention to this. It matters. As a generally staunch supporter of the BBC I've been shouting at them for years about platforming NF. Now my only response is to turn off immediately every time he appears. A small act of protest, but it means I don't hear the lies.

Absolutely! Total attention required. No skipping, no flipping back to check details or names etc… and I’d say audiobooks reignited my love of novels and got me physically reading more too. Winner!
