There's a strong argument that this constitutes fraud on his part. So if I get questioned about the extremely unprofessional note that's now permanently in our system, which can be subpoenaed btw, I'm explaining it isn't my job to take heat for him lying and I will no longer be fielding those calls.

Like, literally making my job harder because he says that being honest about timelines, instead spouting some pie in the sky BS imaginary goal that he knows does not reflect reality, because we have discussed it, and management has said to be forthcoming with the real timeline, might cost a sale.

The disagreement with my coworker escalated into a cold war, complete with deranged notes in our system that read like a motivational poster by way of HR, trying to insist it's my responsibility to get my ass chewed out by customers when he deliberately fails to set proper expectations to make sales
