When Rory asked โ€œare we entering a world where the SNP dominate?โ€ was actually quite shocking

The only way he gets into Bute House is a deal with Reform. His budgets would be dictated by Farage.

A reminder the Icelandic referendum(s) will be hard to predict

I know, I know, I complain about this every time there's an election elsewhere, but it really is just mortifying that in the UK, election results take the form of some official in a badminton court reading out topline numbers, meanwhile most countries have live-updated, highly localised data

What does the model project for Clydesdale in terms of who is second and margin? Different projections Iโ€™ve seen have varying outcomes.

Impossible to disagree with a single word that Ben Rhodes (Obama era NSC official) is saying here:

Funny how all the "small" countries (Denmark, Norway et al) can all "take care of daycare" and healthcare, but the "big" countries supposedly cannot because they're too busy "fighting wars".

We talk about the Scottish electorate being 'fragmented' in the upcoming Holyrood election, but here we have no less than 12 parties having representation, most with similar seat numbers.

Have said for ages absurdity of elections in UK goes beyond FPTP but also operational aspects of how we run democracy. Like, Denmark has several days of early in-person voting (not just postal). It completes count in less than 3 hours & doesnโ€™t treat local data like a state secret. And 84% turnout!

One thing for sure - negotiations will be wide open

Wouldnโ€™t it be good if in elections in the UK, you could go online and see live results for individual polling stations? Thatโ€™s what you get in Denmark. Right down to polling station level.

Moving in the Red blocs favour with near 90% counted. Ahead but short of majority.

Venstre has recovered as largest Blue bloc party. SF still second largest overall.

Very fast changing picture, but right now both Red and Blue blocs are projected to have equal number of seats in the Folketing

While forming a govt will be tough, itโ€™s not impossible - itโ€™s likely to involve a lot of parties either in or as support.

SF/Green Left set to be second largest party for the first time, so an extraordinary result for them.

Liberal Alliance overtakes Venstre to be the biggest Blue bloc party.

DR Exit poll as of 8pm.

Itโ€™s going to be tough putting together a govt with these numbers. Historically low numbers for the Soc Dems and Venstre.

Since the last Danish election, the largest individual movement of voters has been from the Social Democrats to the Green Left

Meanwhile, the Danish People's Party have gained votes from other right-wing populist parties and the three parties in government

Denmark is home to a significant gender divide in voting, with women favouring the red bloc by 16pts and men favouring the blue bloc by 9pts

This is concentrated among women being more likely to back the Social Democrats and Green Left, and men being more likely to vote for the Liberal Alliance

Basically why headlines of a Soc Dem โ€œresurgenceโ€ in UK press is, as usual, missing the actual story. Compared to last November, yes theyโ€™re up. But compared to 2022, theyโ€™re down a lot.

Green Left/SF on course to be second largest party is the story of these numbers.

Finland plans to declare large number of centenarians deceased More than 2,000 centenarians have until 24 March to confirm that they are still alive.

Over 2000 centenarian Finns have until Tuesday to tell the state they are, in fact, still alive

Possibly last poll before Danish election on Tuesday. Neither Red nor Blue blocs can count to 90 without relying on the Moderates. Frederiksen could have a weaker hand as well if The Alternative fail to get over the 2% threshold.

My Dad has Parkinson's. In the past year, South Lanarkshire Council has cut his personal assistant, he no longer receives showers from his carers, and my Mum has been told respite can not be provided. There is a long road to travel before social care could be considered in a good place.
