It's disgusting and I can't understand how this is not the most break glass in times of emergency where everyone with any power who opposes it is just shutting absolutely everything down until this stops.
And they will either suspend or "supervise" elections because they know that they can never lose power after this or there will be a reckoning.
But within minutes of this ICU nurse being murdered they're already spreading despicable lies to justify the violence of the state. And when there is a justifiable protest the state will escalate it's violence under the pretense of maintaining order.
When I first read 1984 more than 20 years ago I appreciated it what we're was trying to do but I thought this is way over the top satire nothing like this could actually happen. The state couldn't lie this egregiously and have everyone just go along....
