Hi all, wondering does anyone know what Heather Humphreys studied in UCG/NUIG/UG and what year did she graduate?

It's a sign of the times that callousness is now dressed up as intellectualism. That empathy is framed as being as morally problematic as prejudice. That bigotry and hatred is just honesty. That solidarity is treason.

The Wren Hunt of St Stephen's Day is one of Ireland's stranger folk-Christian traditions. Based around a story, in some accounts, that a wren gave away the saints hiding place to the Romans. The costumes mirror seasonal folk traditions across Europe.

When looking at cases where one person is being emphasised in relation to another, it is indicated by the use of an emphatic suffix. This is unlike English where you can hear the emphasis by vocally stressing the relevant word.

Deir Catherine Connolly nach bhfuil spéis aici a bheith ina Ceann Comhairle mar gheall nach mbeadh sí in ann a "glór láidir neamhspleách" a úsáid sa Dáil dá mbeadh an ról sin aici.

I really hope so too. It would be futile I think. Would be great to see a good SD candidate in Galway East at some stage in the future

I think there are individual true left pols in all left identifying parties. Some more obvious that others, Pbp, Soc Dems etc. They would have to compromise in order to ever achieve a left coalition

I do. It can’t be achieved without them.
Some other left parties aren’t always true left themselves, sometimes they are just FF/FG on a bicycle!

A good debunking of linguistic claptrap. Try to resist clicking through to the article – it would only encourage them. #linguistics
