I legit have a list of things I like about them in my head, so when they asked me to tell them something I liked I just rattled off several things 😂 They underestimate my power.

When my person was just a buddy they’d tell me I had to learn to say things to make people (them lol) feel good about themselves, even if it meant little lies or flattery. For the record I don’t love core day but I do it for core strength to combat gravity and for arm strength so I can draw and carry stuff. Doing everything only once makes it easier on me than leg day but maybe I can repeat the easier exercises… 🤔

I’ve always wondered what my workouts would be classified as because they’re so short but I don’t take breaks, and I guess they’re something between HIIT and circuit training? Interval training? But they’re muscle-specific exercises 🤔

Reading now I’m wondering if I should repeat my core circuit 😭

All this time hearing “moderate” and “vigorous” intensity exercise, and my brain never thought about “high intensity” in the same vein when it came to HIIT.

More tattoo apprentice practice :D my mentor gets bored easily, and he tired of my straight line drills before I did 😆 I moved onto organic lines and shading and eventually color, each time shifting when he got bored of me going the same thing

Heck once during a shading demo he critiqued my attempt without noting any progress or things I did well, so he activated my inner anime protagonist. When he was out doing errands I buckled down w/ my shading. He came back and said “not bad, here, I would—actually that’s pretty good. I’m impressed”

I swear every other artist at the shop praises my practice except my mentor, and so my mentor’s is the praise I want most. Not all the time, but ONCE in a while would be nice.

Months into tattooing on this stuff and another artist tells me I was doing well considering the fact that it’s hard to tattoo (it’s like silicone). Then another apprentice echoed my gripes about their attempts to tattoo it 😂 I swear my mentor likes seeing me struggle when he has 24 years experience

To be clear (because the tattoo industry and apprenticeships run the risk of negative/toxic environments) my mentor is really chill and goofy and is a “tough love” kind of mentor. A month ago I actually got my first two real compliments in the same week lol

Finally sharing stuff from my tattoo apprenticeship! :D I started in July of last year, so I’m about 8 months in. I’ve done a LOT of drills and I didn’t realize until recently that this kind of fake skin is hard to ink. Mentor just said I suck so I thought, “skill issue”😑
