Trickle-down economics was always a sham.

Nothing has ever trickled down.

Does that illustrate how irrelevant Spain had become?

Which one would you choose, HS2 or NPR?

Postcard of Horton and submarine E9, issued after he sank SMS Hela at the start of the Great War. The brass HATED the Jolly Roger, so it's not featured here.

A happy International Talk Like A Pirate Day to Lt. Cmd Max Horton, who might not have talked like a pirate but damn well flew a Jolly Roger like one.

Great analysis. At want point does food be from the region? Choice 'A' gives you French and British food plus British Indian food and French North African food.

If you go back far enough, then would food need to be native? Like potatoes from the Andes or wheat from the middle east?

It's not anti-football at all, it's pure pragmatism.
Anti-football is having a massive gulf in finance and then trying to break away into a super league to get more money.
Football is all about underdogs being able to compete on the day.
Still, Liverpool needed a soft pen to win.

What country are you in? In the UK a lot of old gas ranges were scrapped when we moved from coal (town) gas to natural gas.

Let's see what happens in the local elections in 2026. If it's a shit show, the we should all be writing our MPs asking them to put in a motion of no confidence in Starmer. Hopefully there is an election on Denton soon so Burnham can become an MP.

Depends in which constituency I lived. If a green had the best chance of beating Tories/reform I'd vote green. If it's Labour, I'd vote Labour. I wish that Labour wasn't so right wing at the moment, but they are not as bad as Tories or Reform.
We need a better electoral system.

Yes that is a good point, wall space will be at a premium.

What artwork would you have on the walls? I always thought some classic sci-fi or fantasy artwork, alongside some military history stuff like maps, prints of paintings and some recreation armour, swords, uniforms from the 7 years war etc.

Ahhh, I see. I have those. Thank you very much.
I've been looking for something to use as a base for terrain pieces, would you recommend this 1mm mdf?

So, am I reading this right? The Chais Dwarfs keep their sacred texts in a binder? Is it a ring binder?

My follow up question is, what is steel paper?

These are great. Out of interest, how have you cut your mdf base for the artist?

Quar would be a cool game to demo. Along with Burrows and Badgers, Quar could have pretty broad appeal. Add in some historical and you have a good mix.

A book shop, gaming space with a cafe and a pub attached would be amazing.
How do I play this powerball?

7 months ago 2 0 1 0

I've often thought of doing that too, but also realised what a money pit it would be.
What games would you have on demonstration tables?
I'd have The Old World & Necromunda from GW, maybe a napoleonic game like Sharp Practice, some cowboy thing & either Frostgrave or Stargrave.
Plus 100s of books

I thought they did a good job on him on the TV programme 'Solar Opposites'. My favourite line was "Hi Malcolm, your hair looks particularly zainy tonight".

Chicken Farage bans The New World It claims to be the party of free speech, but this last-minute decision to stop me attending tells a very different story

Nigel Farage is about to give evidence to the US Congress on threats to free speech in the UK.

So here's one for him: Reform UK has just banned me (and @thenewworldmag.bsky.social) from attending its party conference this weekend. www.thenewworld.co.uk/james-ball-w...
