It was an honor to have AD 44 represented at the table. We are so grateful for the tireless work the SCRA does to advocate for our neighborhood and keep Studio City such a vibrant, engaged, and tight-knit community. 🏠✨
Looking forward to many more years of collaboration!
Huge thanks to the Studio City Residents Association for a wonderful evening at Saturday’s leadership dinner! And congratulations to Alan Dymond on receiving the Fran Quigley Award!

In the subject line, please include: Attn: District Director - Paid Internship.
Our District Office is looking to hire a paid intern as soon as possible. This is a great opportunity to learn firsthand how state government works!
If interested, please submit a cover letter and resume to Assemblymember.Schultz@assembly.ca.gov.
AB 2277 would also establish the Wildfire Safety and Climate Stewardship Fund (Fund) to support current and future state park stewardship.
The California State Park Stewardship Act of 2026 (AB 2277) passed the Assembly Committee on Water, Parks, and Wildlife earlier this week!
It would require the Department of Parks and Recreation to integrate climate considerations into all aspects of park planning, development, and operations.
In Assembly District 44 we know that when the PTA is strong, our students are successful. Your advocacy for our children doesn’t stop at the school gates; it reaches all the way to Sacramento and we thank you for your partnership and congratulate you on a successful school year!
This year’s Burbank Council PTA Service Award honorees didn’t just “show up;” they went above and beyond. They gave the most precious resource we have—our time—to ensure that our students have the resources, the programs, and the support they need to succeed.
We often talk about “the village” it takes to raise a child, and the PTA is the heart of that village. Whether you are a parent, staff, teacher, or administrator, you are the reason our schools are more than just buildings. You make them a community.
Thank you all for your support. We’re off to the Appropriations Committee!

In summary, AB 2509 will add a five-year average as an option for school districts to count as funded average daily attendance along with the current, prior, or average of the three most recent prior years of average daily attendance. This means more stable funding for our public schools.

So earlier this year, I introduced AB 2509 to help stabilize school funding in the aftermath of the ICE raids in our communities.

This structural funding problem is compounded by the fact that many students are not coming to school because they do not feel safe, especially given the presence of ICE in our communities and the draconian policies of the Trump administration.

🚨AB 2509 passes Assembly Education Committee!
Burbank, Glendale, and Los Angeles Unified School Districts have been facing declining student enrollment for the last several years, which means less funding for our public schools.

It was an important reminder of what’s at stake and why we must pass AB 2319 to create a standalone post-production tax credit program!

Last week, my district team and I had the opportunity to visit @studiopost.nbcu on the Comcast NBCUniversal lot in Universal City.
Our tour was followed by a candid conversation about the challenges that the post-production industry faces in California.
Thank you to all the event organizers and sponsors for bringing us together last night to recognize such an incredible organization.
It was a privilege to join Ascencia for their 18th annual gala yesterday. Congratulations again to all of the honorees who we celebrated last night!
Ascencia is doing life saving work. They provide housing and support services for homeless individuals and families.
🚨Our District Office has moved!

Our office phone number remains the same: (818) 558-3043.
Please call or visit our office if we can be of assistance with a state agency or department.
Team Schultz was thrilled to join Toluca Lake HOA and many other community partners in hosting a Fraud and Scam Awareness Seminar last night. Thank you to all of the sponsors and attendees who made last night such a success, especially Red Maple LA, Cathryn Farnsworth, and Toluca Lake HOA!
Thank you to everyone who took the time to write a letter, call a legislator and/or travel to Sacramento to ensure the passage of this bill.
AB 2319 is on its way to its next policy committee. This bill seeks to create a standalone post production tax incentive program in California.
Our fight to keep post production jobs in California continues!
This bill will receive its first hearing in policy committee tomorrow morning. It’s imperative that we pass the bill to create a standalone post-production tax incentive program so that we can compete with jurisdictions across the globe to keep jobs in California.
Thank you to Congresswoman Laura Friedman, Congresswoman Luz Rivas, Assemblymember Tom Lackey, and members of CAPA for joining me today as I unveiled the details of AB 2319.
Call your Assemblymember today and encourage them to vote YES on AB 2319!
Happy Easter 🐇🐣🌸
