Odd fact: California has only had one non-white governor, Romualdo Pacheco, who held office briefly in 1875

"It says here that your only graphic design experience is laying out an indie rock magazine from 1998-2002"

"Was that a question?"

"Not really. You're hired."

I believe the current trend of mixing various candies in popcorn is leading theatre patrons to dig deeper and more aggressively into their bags for perfect candy/popcorn ratio fistfuls and is thus creating bag ruffling volumes higher than previously known to theatrical experience

Presenting the reopening the Strait of Hormuz as a victory is like the Greeks failing to take Troy but celebrating the safe return of their wooden horse

Bottom image with George saying, "The spirit of space travel got to me."

Jerry then says, "Alright."

If you don't want to get charged you have to log in and downgrade to a "standard" plan that's just the fuckin apps.

Two pictures of the pillsbury dough boy: once is on a purple background with the caption “he is risen! happy Easter!”, and the other is tan and brown, similar to a cracker, on a white background saying “he is not! Happy Passover!”

It’s time to post one of my favorite memes of the year.

Listening in to the live Artemis II feed. I love the way they talk about everything (jargon, acronyms, plaing English) . Like a bit ago, an astronaut was talking emotionally about how beautiful the views were of the approaching moon, and Houston's CapCom person responded plainly “Copy. Moon joy.”

A: the justice department throws away frames when they want to change photos.

Yes, they do.
Mine is Star Trek Corps of Engineers. I want adult captain Molly O'Brien flying around solving problems and building Star Fleet infrastructure!

These would be the folks who reign hellfire down on officers who willingly break the prime directive, or follow up on a Riker “belay that order...” casual Friday mutiny.

The fun thing would be visiting a new ship every few episodes. Seeing how the culture of each one is continuous, but distinct

Does ever Trekkie have a Star Trek show idea? Mine is a JAG type star trek show about a the small group of Starfleet investigators who go from starship to starship holding legal inquiries about star trek stuff.

Same. Any artist who does their best work after 60 gives me something to aspire to.

I think a new star trek that is is 90’s trek what the Pitt is to ER.

SECRETARY RUBIO: Imagine if instead of spending billions of dollars supporting terrorists or weapons, Irans had spent that money helping the people of Iran. They would have had a much different country.

I guess boycotting Harry Potter feels pretty trivial to me, because I'm an adult. if someone told me I shouldn't eat Gerber's baby food, I'd be like, that is no problem. I'm way ahead of you

Voyager has the reverse problem, in that the corporate culture on that ship was clearly too strong, in that the Maquis are immediately ten times more professional than the Federation staff in Discovery or Strange New Worlds or Star Trek Hogwarts.

I don't quite agree with this framing, and I say this as a Let That Be Your Last Battlefield defender. It could definitely be flatly preachy at times. I think that it's really just a skill issue, if your preaching is sufficiently inspiring and the stories It features in sufficiently engaging is ok.

The fluid definition of "libs," "the left," or whatever on Bsky is social poison because it simultaneously puts everyone at risk of excommunication and lets nobody be accountable for their claims about this or that group. "Liberals" can mean anyone from Paul von Hindenburg to Bernie Sanders here.
