As it's #autismawarenessmonth, I wrote this for the @britfantasysoc.bsky.social.
Some of you may find it interesting :)

A very over-the-top social media graphic featuring two books: The Haunting of Avis Lovelock and The Needfire, both by MK Hardy. The graphic has large pink glowing text reading "They're both gay!" and a variety of 'lesbian' graphics from canva.com, including several frogs, and a selection of brightly-coloured sparkles and stars.
In honour of #lesbianvisibilityweek, an updated graphic now that we've got 2 books on offer. Support your local lesbians and buy/pre-order these books this LVW!
Both available from @solarisbooks.bsky.social wherever good books are sold.
Obviously no shame on young adults who want to read it! But it wasn't the right shelf for it.
Today's 'That Doesn't Belong There' moment was spotting Paladin's Hope by @tkingfisher.com on the YA/MG shelves at the library. The librarians were fooled by the '2 cute guys in mild peril' cover, I guess?
(I took it to the desk and the librarian who has actually read it was very grateful.)
'Balance' on trans issues on the news never seems to mean asking trans people, or platforming trans advocacy. Instead it sounds like "As the Government bans trans people from going to restaurants we speak to a group who says the ban doesn't go far enough."
Can't I do time travel as therapy instead?
Being consumed alive by a forest sounds pretty restful tbh
OMG When the forearms happened, I damn near melted.
I had someone the other week berate me for not saying 'please' as well as 'excuse me'. I was somewhat snarky back but it was a woman in a supermarket blocking the aisle, so that was a bit less difficult to do than random bloke with bike. ☹️
I think that sounds like a good plan (if you have the weather for it).
Screenshot Lucavi @lucavi_ftw good news everyone SPACE com Potatoes are better than human blood for making space concrete bricks, scientists say.

Morning Womble, finishing up Tideborn by Eliza Chan, the 2nd in a very watery fantasy duology.
I picked up The Sword Garden last weekend at Eastercon (and bullied/talked Peadar into signing it for me) so that's next on my list!
<hoarsely> i'm not crying you're crying
Yes I am crying, how did you know
I will try again next week to sort it. I need some time with the chaos crew.
I think it's because I had the Ultimate Edition on Steam, bought when I did have an EA subscription, and it's all got confused. Hence the idea of going old school with what I install.
I installed DA2 last week and was thwarted by not wanting to pay for an EA subscription. I am going to have to dig out the CDs.
Recreate your own Artemis splashdown with three Tunnocks teacakes and a Nespresso pod
I want that colour.
It looks great!
No, you do not reheat leftover pizza, what kind of savage are you. You eat it cold out of the fridge as God Herself intended.
A crudely made sign stand of bundled bamboo held together with wire, upon which is mounted a roughly made sign of a single piece of wood, painted black, on which someone has crudely written BOOKS with an arrow pointing to the right, in a street somewhere.
When I know it's definitely a trap, but I'm going anyway.
something that wrinkles my brain every time I remember it is the fact that total eclipses are only possible on earth because the moon and sun appear to be the same size in our sky, due to the insanely, astronomically unlikely fluke that the moon is 400x smaller than the sun but 400x closer to us.
I feel very sorry for the person in Notting Hill who ordered a parcel but when entering their address, somehow put my postcode. Which is in Wales, not London. The delivery driver was very confused.

Fuck these death machines, especially in the UK where the need to have either of the top two is extremely limited.
I was there!
I'm not on the meds yet which allow me to no longer need at least 2 coffees to reach the levels of a normal human...
But otherwise I agree, as long as it's good coffee.
The Shine albums were pretty great and very much my sort of music. 7 was my favourite at the time - I should see if I still have the CD knocking around.
