Femicide Is A Political Act of Terror Men enforce patriarchy through violence.

wrote about femicide, and how men murdering intimate partners is not a mental health issue, and isn't an accident or a tragedy for which no one is to blame.

It's a deliberate act of political terror to enforce patriarchy.

Fun fact: Women's sports are segregated not to protect women, but to protect *men* from losing *to* a woman.

Don't believe me? Look up Jackie Mitchell. Struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Then suddenly women were unfit to play baseball.

White House Correspondents’ Dinner 2025 Red Carpet Arrivals Photos, Live Updates See photos and style moments from the 2025 White House Correspondents' Dinner, featuring journalists and celebrity guests on the red carpet.

The White House Correspondents’ Dinner has a red carpet, reflecting how little it has to do with keeping politicians honest and how much it has to do with social standing and celebrity.
We ought to refer to the WHCD’s red carpet as the “Walk of Shame.” 4/4🧵

Cancel the White House Correspondents’ Dinner Trump will be guest of honor at the “nerd prom,” with journalists serving as suck-ups

🧵 I can’t stop thinking of how Versailles-on-the-Potomac it is for White House reporters to party with Trump, Hegseth & Stephen Miller this weekend despite their assault on the free press.
If Trump’s masked thugs led the press away in handcuffs, the arrestees would negotiate for the exclusive. 1/4🧵

SPLC charges: A deep dive with ex-prosecutor Mitch Epner The Trump DOJ's claims against the storied civil rights group tell a far different story than Todd Blanche wants.

By the DOJ's own account, the SPLC's informant program was cheap and effective.

For a fraction of their annual budget, SPLC penetrated the nation's worst hate groups and published their secrets with info from their turncoats.

The DOJ's case assumes donors felt defrauded by this. buff.ly/cwTnYg6

To Protect And Swerve: NYPD Cop Has 547 Speeding Tickets Yet Remains On The Force - Streetsblog New York City One of the city’s most-dangerous drivers is an officer with the NYPD, which does nothing to stop his reign of terror on Staten Island.

Staten Island traffic cameras have caught a white RAM 1500 pickup truck blasting through school zones or running red lights more than 547 times since 2022.

The truck belongs to James Giovansanti, who lives and works there as an NYPD officer. nyc.streetsblog.org/2026/04/23/t...

I predicted this behaviour a while back:

1) Trump or friends file meritless suit against federal government.

2) Rather than litigating, Trump administration offers delicious settlement.

3) Meritless lawsuit goes away, and Trump and friends are suddenly richer.

4) Repeat.

U.S. Settles Carter Page Wiretap Lawsuit for $1.25 Million

Yet another Trump co-conspirator, investigated by the FBI but never charged, gets a $1.25 million payout for nothing. His meritless lawsuit was repeatedly thrown out by the courts, but Trump has reached into the taxpayers' pockets and paid him anyway.

I wrote about this in my newsletter. The Weather Service didn't launch balloons recently and got surprised by tornadoes in Kansas. DOGE cuts at NWS cut out weather balloon launches which gather data for storm prediction. You are less safe because of that choice.

Laziness kills ambition.

Ego kills growth.
Jealousy kills peace.
Doubt kills confidence.

Trump DOJ will avenge the KKK by taking out SPLC The racism is not subtle.

"The indictment is a grotesque attempt to recast white people as real victims of racism. In the DOJ’s telling, advocates who spent decades dismantling the Klan are its secret benefactors, 'enriching' themselves by secretly creating racism — something in such short supply it can only be generated."

With no bomb shelters, Iranians hide in bathrooms With little access to bomb shelters, Iranian civilians have largely been left to fend for themselves during missile and drone strikes.

Good morning to readers. Oil prices have surpassed $102.44 per barrel (+40.58% compared to pre-war).

As the death toll in Iran exceeds 3,000, people have nowhere to hide from attacks.

Without proper shelter, Maryam used to spend hours in her tiny bathroom, counting the strikes.
