I-96 Eastbound closed in Fowlerville due to a crash

Today for several hours ahead of #MISOTS25 I-96 was shut down between Lansing and Detroit because someone was killed in a crash. We've accepted this as normal.

Driving cannot continue to be the only reliable way to travel here. Sustainable transit funding must be a priority.

People have asked me if I'd ever consider covering transit-related stuff in the U.S. House and Senate the way I do for the Michigan legislature and just these few hours of glancing at C-SPAN in the background have reminded me why I don't. It's too frustrating to watch this mess on a regular basis
