Hehe, I think a lot of people have and do. It's a fire safety thing though, and we've seen it go wrong many times, so it's a good piece of law.

While true, it's also illegal. Standard outlets are only permitted for occasional charging. A hard-wired charger is mandatory for any permanent charging spot, including in residential homes.

Afaik most people with electric vehicles here (in Norway) have home chargers. Stations are for when you are traveling.
