Going through some AirShow London 2017 photos. When the F-35's helmet seemed exotic, the big nose on the CT-142 still looks a bit ridiculous, my favourite CT-155 Hawk trainer markings, and the indispensable but now retiring C-2 Greyhound carrier COD airplane.

A fun view over the wing of CWHM's vintage B-25 Mitchell.
The tailhook looks so out of proportion for this airplane.
A bit of hoar frost on the railing this morning as we learned of Wiarton Willie's prediction of another six weeks of cold and frosty weather.

The pilot waves hi ๐, as a vintage Fairey Firefly taxis past on the ramp. The Firefly is part of the flying program at CWHM in Hamilton, Canada.
The happy passenger is about to enjoy a flight of a lifetime.
Caught CWHM's B-25 Mitchell's reflection on the ramp this past summer.
The best camera you have is the one in your hand, as this was #shotoniphone

Caught a USAF Boeing C-32 VVIP transport on approach to Hamilton Airport - YHM earlier this week.

I volunteered for the tour, and it was an incredible 6-week experience. We were equally happy when it returned to Canada after an unexpected detour for fuel at Narsarsuaq, Greenland, on its flight to Goose Bay, NF airport.
That was an incredible summer.
I've attended before; it's a fun event.
Caught CWHM's Avro Lancaster VR-A closing its bomb bay doors just before taxiing out for a flight. Sound on ๐

The C-47 Dakota FZ692 is a D-Day veteran that participated in Operation Tonga and then flew with 437 Squadron RCAF.
Since 2014, it has been flying passengers with CWHM in Hamilton, Ontario, in its WW2 era 437 Sqn markings.
An FG-1D Corsair vintage airplane in a hangar with its landing flaps visible underneath in its reflection.
Caught a glimpse of the Timmerman Legends of Flight Collection's vintage FG-1D Corsair before the Military Heritage Day this past weekend at the Chatham-Kent Airport.

The long rotor blade of a RCAF CH-147F Chinook as it was waiting for an open house to begin, last summer.
Here's the first engine run of the season for CWHM's PBY-5A Canso. I'm looking forward to seeing it fly over Hamilton and southern Ontario again this summer.

You may appreciate this clip recorded during a flight in CWHM's Lancaster VR-A youtu.be/UwFX40zKqJ4?...
Very cool.
Yes, that should have read RCAF 437 Squadron.
A Spitfire flying over Windsor Airport
A vintage WW2 Spitfire outside in front of a hangar.
For #fighterfriday, here's Spitfire LF Mk. XVIe SL721 marked as AU-J, flown by Michael Potter in 2008, flying over Windsor Airport (YQG) and on the ground at CWHM.

A bright yellow vintage DHC-1 chipmunk trainer airplane with a pilot and passenger onboard is outside, with its canopy being closed by the ground crew.
From a sunny day last summer. The canopy being closed on a DHC-1B Chimpunk, just before clear is called, and it's Gyspy Major engine chuffs and puffs to life.

Seeing a US Navy SNJ training airplane flying over a shoreline while looking through one of the forward windows of a B-29 Superfortress while sitting in the bombardier's seat at the very front of the cockpit.
A fun memory of a great flight, seeing a USN SNJ while sitting in the bombardier's seat in the nose of B-29 Superortress FIFI.

Three Canadiar CL-227 Sentinel UAV prototypes.
One of the more unique Canadian VTOL drone / UAV designs is the Canadair CL-227 Sentinel, nick-named the "Flying Peanut." It was a short-range reconnaissance or artillery-spotting UAV that could stay aloft for up to 2 hours with various onboard sensors and datalinks tested.
It was great to see an RCAF CP-140M Aurora up close on a stopover at CWHM in Hamilton, Canada, last weekend.
The most visible feature of the aircraft's recent upgrades is the topside fairing, which covers the new sat-comm systems.

It is a WW2 vintage PBY-5 Canso flying boat with its reflection on a shiny floor as it is pulled out of a hangar on a sunny day with a blue sky in the background.
Reflecting on warm summer days in the CWHM hangar on this cold winter day.
The WW2-era PBY-5A Canso in the photo is being pulled out for a flight.

I saw at least one turbine-powered DHC-4 Caribou in civil markings stored at Pinal Airpark in late 2023.
