It’s being reported that explosions are occurring now in Caracas. It’s not certain but plausible these explosions are the opening salvo of the overthrow of a sovereign nation in a bid toward distracting the American public from Trump’s many failures and scandals.

Actually, I'd say their interest in releasing the files is based on a balancing act between what Trump wants and what their voters want. Normally those two align perfectly, but with the Epstein files, it's not so clear. At least a small minority of MAGA voters want full disclosure.

Trump finds it less politically damaging to violate the law and continue the cover-up instead of simply release whatever damning information is in there about himself. Must be pretty bad.

Trump had a choice here. Obey the law and fully disclose the contents of those records. Or defy the law and continue the cover-up. Obviously, whatever he is covering up must be pretty bad, especially when the Republicans voted for the law too.
That they didn't comply is further evidence that Trump is attempting to cover up something especially damning about himself.
So what is to be done about this flagrant violation of the law?

Why the name change? Especially since it isn’t accompanied by any other change to format or programming.
The new name isn‘t better than the old one; most would probably say it’s worse.
Revealing whatever is in those files apparently would damage Trump more than the damage he is experiencing now by covering them up. It must be pretty bad.

Adding Epstein’s comments to many other bits of circumstantial evidence, it’s hard to believe Trump wasn’t fully aware of his buddy’s crimes and for a long time did nothing about it. It’s also wholly credible that he dabbled a bit in those crimes himself.
A steely gaze, faux-outraged voice, and passionate hand gestures don‘t make a lie true.
