As a sneak peak, 67% of adolescents with PCOS in the Military Health System had a cormorbid psychiatric diagnosis and 56% were prescribed a psychotropic medication. These rates are high & the development of tailored mental support for this population is needed!

It sounds like you know what you’re doing :) go with your gut!

That makes sense. Grad school sometimes felt like a lifetime of stress bundled into in 5 years. It’s been weird adjusting out of it, but a good weird. You’re in the home stretch (definitely definitely)

Also, congrats on being at this stage 🎉 What a HUGE milestone! You are so close to being done!

I talked higher level about the ideas behind my “productivity” (clinical training, lines of research) and my intentional integration of the two; with my gaps being things the site offers training in. I second not spending too much time on them! I’m happy to share mine with if it is helpful.

Words cannot describe how meaningful it was to have my family convene in DC to watch me graduate last weekend. I wouldn’t have made it to the finish line without my family, mentors, and friends. USU is a wonderfully unique university that I am lucky to have attended.

Effect of Lifestyle Modifications on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome in Predominantly Young Adults: A Systematic Review To improve counseling and outcomes for the adolescent population (ages 10-24-years-old), with polycystic ovary syndrome we conducted a systematic review of randomized controlled trials with the primary objective to generate evidence-based recommendations for which lifestyle interventions with or without medications lead to the best outcomes.

My 1st PCOS project is published! Led by Dr. Long, we reviewed RCTs testing lifestyle modifications for AYA with PCOS. Interventions generally improved PCOS symptoms, but the complete lack of studies testing comprehensive, evidence-based lifestyle programs is concerning.
