Automated placement of Light Probes via Adaptive Probe Volumes visualized via the Rendering Debugger in Unity 6.4.

The Scene view shows a series of red spheres with different brightness according to how much the point in space they are in is exposed to light.

The scene's light comes from a baked Directional Light.

The Scene view shows a series of red spheres with different brightness according to how much the point in space they are in is exposed to light. The scene's light comes from a baked Directional Light.

Recent Unity versions introduce Adaptive Probe Volumes as a way to light a scene by automating the placement of Light Probes.

Very convenient, except they don't apparently work with the Light Probes API, so if you need to gather data (e.g. using LightProbes.GetInterpolatedProbe) you can't (yet?).

We're working on some incredibly cool stuff but we also don't want to spoil every single scene in the game, so have our trailer again instead 😇

Maybe we'll update the Steam screenshots with new material soon, though!

A charmingly hand drawn screenshot of a role playing game, in which a rhino, a reptile(?), a strange blobbly thing and a duck attack an angry mouse with a sword and a pink skivvy.

I played a little bit of Heroes of the Seven Islands and genuinely adore it. A super charming and engaging point & click RPG.

Great interview! I always mention Sokpop Collective to everyone who asks me about making games.

Also, Bernband has been living rent free in my head since its original release: very impactful when I properly started playing with Unity back in 2014!

Well I'll be! ROSEWATER is one year old today!

My original plan was to release an update with developer commentary, but I've been way too busy working on my new game. So instead, I'm going to do an all day AMA!

Ask anything about the game, the development process, or whatever else!

"The more you know", indeed: I had no idea about any of this!

And, for what it's worth, the 10th anniversary drawings are also beautiful.

I *might* draw the line at Elden Ring Nightreign, but I reserve that for last, so we will see!

I've heard good things about Lies of P from at least one of the above-mentioned friends. The closest non-FromSoftware Soulsborne I played was probably Jedi: Fallen Order, but I dropped it quite early!

Eventually! I *do* have Elden Ring already, but never installed it yet as I'm kinda going chronologically.

Many friends have praised Bloodborne, and I might already like the setting. Sekiro is maybe the one I have heard the least about from friends, but might still give it a go!

You might as well be already ahead of me, then, for what I know! 🤣 I've only played DS1 (Remastered) so far!

With you there, the art is gorgeous and very evocative!

Instead I'm one of those people who were deeply impacted by it, therefore I am flooded by, like, memories of landscapes, sounds and lives beyond my own and unknown, whenever I am reminded of it!

I agree! It gives me a slightly cozy feeling I somewhat associate to Diablo 1 Tristram, without the dread. At least, at the moment.

I'm only at the beginning, having just passed both The Last Giant and The Pursuer.
