If you watched President Trump’s inauguration, you could spot (at least) two VIP guests with Nevada ties behind the former presidents: Phil Ruffin and Miriam Adelson. The billionaire hoteliers were both major donors to the Trump campaign. Adelson and her family also own the Review-Journal.

Nevada governor calls for permanent teacher pay raises, $1B investment in new housing Gov. Joe Lombardo made sweeping policy proposals at his State of the State Address, including making teacher raises permanent and extending pay raises to charter school teachers.

Democrats said they were encouraged by Lombardo’s bipartisan tone and many of the topics discussed, but felt the “devil is in the details.”
