Talking about the Basic Systems of Crossguard! www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwsD... #ttrpg #indie #crossguardrpg
In games like Fire Emblem I like it. It's not constantly intrusive, it adds some strategy and limits to using your best weapons.
Not a huge fan of it in laid-back action games.
Make it good and I'm in
Needs more Filth mechanics
As an accompaniment to a video I'll be putting out soon talking about the HOW (how to play Crossguard, the basics) here's an article talking about WHY the core systems are designed the way they are. www.patreon.com/posts/design... #ttrpgs #crossguardrpg
And here's a little video showcase going over what's in the book: youtu.be/VzicL4hFuZw
The full beta rules for Crossguard RPG are now available! This is a mid-weight, setting-agnostic system with a focus on being fast and flexible. There's a free preview over on the Patreon: www.patreon.com/posts/crossg... #ttrpg
The final week before the public beta launch of #CrossguardRPG !

First post today is about dreams and making sacrifices. It's a bit of a weird one, but I'm in a weird place.

For those who haven't seen the latest video, I'm starting up a Patreon where I'll be posting dev logs and charting the development of Crossguard. I'll also be posting a lot of miscellaneous unfiltered thoughts.
Little bit of an update about when you can play #crossguardrpg ! youtu.be/CIKTkjj8oKM
the Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is a good watch if you just wanna sit back and watch a bunch of nazis getting killed for 2 hours
Now it's the other side's turn. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dbak...
I also think shamanism and witchcraft are great flavours for buffing and hexing classes. I like to get a bit more interesting with witchcraft and curses, more fairytale than D&D.
My touchstones for magic tend to be Dark Souls-esque: so the "primal" elements — fire, ice and lightning — are essential flavours.
What are the "powers" you consider essential for dark fantasy TTRPGs, if any?
I'm a little late due to Crossguard stuff, but I finally got Metroid Prime 4 installed to play over the holidays. I'm sure it can't be that bad.
Reposting this here as well for anyone interested in publishing games or making a professional-looking pdf. Great stuff. www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHwV...
19:15 GMT (just under 3 hours from now). This'll answer some questions.

I will be running this as a narrative event, throwing all the characters together as days pass. We will see who rises to the top. If there are enough signups, this mind end up being multiple sessions.
Signups are open now on the Discord and they'll be closing before the stream on sunday.
So the next Crossguard community sesh will be Battle Royale. I mean, "Ichidake Island".
There's no limit to the number of participants, and you are not required to be online during the stream. Just make a character, assign your stats and you're good to go.

I will be showing off how easy it is to hack the system by creating something entirely weird and different within the Crossguard engine.
The full details and ad should be up tomorrow on the Discord. It will be this sunday, time TBA but probably 3pm GMT.
As we come up to the busy holidays, the next Crossguard one-shot will be something very different from the last. There will be no limit to the number of participants, nor any requirement to be online as it streams.

Hah, the struggle is mostly in the marketing. The game itself is mostly finished! Thank you :)
There are loads of things I love about Daggerheart. Just not as many as I hate.
I didn't wanna make this review. But I'm sure the comments are gonna be chill, right?

Couldn't have phrased that nearly as well as you did there. I think a lot of modern TTRPGs are experimenting more with being a sort of board game hybrid, and while that's cool, it's not what I'm looking for. As a player, I want to be immersed. As a GM, I want the rules to get out of my way.
one thing that kind of annoys me about a lot of newer TTRPGs is that they assume the players know the rules.
in a lot of modern games, a character's cool moves require the player to have an understanding of the ruleset as complete as the referee - which can be a hard sell to potential players!
