Yes, at this point it is definitely a choice. The conscripts early on were a bit different.

Yes, each time I think about it, it gets funnier. I used to feel a little guilty at that, but anyone abetting the invasion has to know the truth.

Yes, that is what is done on the website. Cops are 3x more dangerous around children than teachers.

"To the f*cking left!"
BOOM!
"Um, my left, not your left."

A lot of the people being rescued are speaking Russian. So much for Putin's claim to be protecting Russian-speakers.

Yes, I think that's going to be the big one. Kick out the immigrants and destroy the productivity of American dairy, fruit, and vegetables farms and followup with tariffs on food.

U.S. law enforcement officers 2023 | Statista How many police officers are there in the U.S.? In 2023, there were 720,652 full-time law enforcement officers employed in the United States, an increase from 708,001 the previous year.

Don't let the raw numbers fool you. To figure out the likelihood that someone with a particular job molests children, divide by the number in that job.
There are roughly six times as many teachers as LEOs in the US. www.statista.com/statistics/1...

It's kind of funny, I'm not much of a baker ordinarily, but I've got a slack week, and with the kid in town, I no longer have to worry about eating everything I make. I started using the no-knead recipes, and i want to try that with rye bread.

I'm old enough to remember bumper stickers saying, "Don't Blame Me, I Voted for McGovern," but a simple "Harris for President" sticker guarantees authenticity.

Yes, but it has to be admitted that places like the New York Times, Washington Post, and CNN were actively blocking information. We are going to have to boost communication in civil society because the traditional media aren't doing their job.

Similar. 22 yo home from college. Gonna be bad for the diet. Home-baked bread Saturday. Home-made brownies last night. With ice cream. Lemon cake coming up. And that's not even Thanksgiving. Getting set for pumpkin muffins, squash pie, etc. Off to gym.

Went ahead and made brownies. Fresh warm brownies with Alden's vanilla ice cream. It'll take a lot of exercise to work this off, but it's worth it.

It's beautiful, and I'm sure the memories make it even more so.

It's nice to have the kid home for Thanksgiving week. The house is more alive, and it encourages me to cook and bake. Tonight she just wanted pizza, but I've made bread and I'll do more and some lemon cake and brownies later this week. Squash is cooking in the oven for events later.

Hmm. I think not, for the gated community, but the traditional common law requirement that burglary be of a dwelling place has been expanded by judicial definition to things like cars used by people to sleep in. There's lots of room for creativity here in defining residence.

Sarah McBride: "It is an attempt to distract ... Every single time we hear them say the word 'trans,' look what they're doing with their right hand. Look at what they're doing to pick the pocket of American workers, to fleece seniors by privatizing Social Security and Medicare."

Maybe they're just sick of the New York Times, not news.
I'm as disgusted by events as anyone, but I subscribe to two news sources. It was five, but I've moved and need to figure out how to get good local news in my rural area.

Those songs take me back. People miming "American Pie" at a summer camp. "Vincent" in the dorm rooms. Enjoy the spin.

Oh, wow. That won't mean much to many, perhaps, but some of us will remember "Wien Air Alaska."

With Notre Dame, we have to ask, are they for it or against it?

Look at the 100-level math offerings. It's basic algebra and pre-calculus that people should be getting in high school. It's good that the university is doing it, we should be honest and accept that it's a diversity initiative.

The University of Idaho's biggest expense helping under-represented groups is on remedial courses for rural Idahoans because their schools are so bad. It escapes scrutiny because it benefits white Republicans, but facts are facts.

That made me smile, after it made me cough up my coffee. I did something like that for my mom, too. After all the work bringing us up, it felt good to get her some nice kitchenware.

Oligarchs in the US have seen a lot of wealth increases, too, so IDK if it's that much more sinister than the global norm—which of course, could be pretty sinister.
BTW, I use pocket to keep info. Then I'm not dependent on the link still being good. getpocket.com/home
