I really liked this! The story's structure of 20 encounters between the two characters lets it play with pacing and form in ways that work: by turns hot, funny, and unexpected, which makes their developing bond engaging. 📚

Is this what our parents meant when they told us "you'll move further right as you grow older?" Like did they mean that completely literally?

I start off each stretch of writing by a light editing read of the roughly page and a half before I left off last time, mostly to refresh my memory and get back into the groove.

My guess is that one is on the LEFT, while the other is on the RIGHT.

It's pretty impossible to believe any "income is improving" stories when two thirds of any given social media timeline are people trying to crowdfund food and housing.

All the numbers being bandied about that seem to disprove the cost of living crisis in the US don't match the lived experience I had before I left. Nor do they mesh with what people I know are experiencing.

I think a lot of the "income has gone up" stats are Spiders Georg'd to hell by billionaires.

The desperate campaign to push AI down our throats is just what Nestlé did with baby formula, or Monsanto with patended seeds.

It's not about 12$. It's about raising the cost to play. Meaning a niche or single title author, an author with a worthy book but a small audience, will likely be forced to find other ways to distribute. Less distribution= less availability = less options for readers. And round and round again.

I'm seeing a lot of "publishing a book shouldn't be free" posts in relation to this D2D fee. Guess what, they already take a percentage. No one expects it to be free. They already take their chunk, and now they want another chunk out of your share, calculating the threshold after they get theirs.

I've seen comments on other websites saying this is a good use of AI because typesetting is just grunt work.

No it isn't! There is a lot of skill and craft to good typesetting and this is aiming to take jobs from people to automate what should be a human process!

This sucks!

The most important thing would be that characters feel like being there means they can relax. I guess the precise method of doing that depends on the character, but that would be the goal.
