The reversals from and parallels to the Season 2 finale blow me away. In 2x08, Louis, having reclaimed & become comfortable with his own agency, decides to meet Lestat - who, this time, is the one acutely vulnerable in his grief - at Rue Royale where they can mourn their beloved daughter together.

Rewatching IWTV 1x01 and it is so striking how Lestat stands on the Rue Royale balcony *wearing the very same robe he does during the reunion in 2x08* and calling to Louis, while Louis narrates: “I wanted to grieve alone… but he would not allow it.” :’)
