Our for-profit health care system is not only broken & cruel, it's extremely wasteful.
While we spend billions on stock buybacks, CEO compensation & denying needed care, Medicare for All would save $650 billion & 68,000 lives a year per CBO & Yale University. Let's get it done.

Text reads: “Big Steps Taken Forward for Infill Housing in Asheville.” The Asheville For All logo is in the bottom corner.
Thanks to the Asheville City Councilors who voted for housing, and to city staff and all the pro-housing voices that showed up too. Full recap to come soon!
If the Trump-Musk agenda is so popular, why are Republicans hiding from their constituents?
Keep fighting. Keep calling. Keep showing up. Keep causing good trouble.
"Judge Griffin's insistence on throwing out over 65,000 votes disregards the will of the people in service of a political power grab... NC voters have spoken, it is time to respect their choice and move on.” -Kristi Graunke, Legal Director ACLU-NC

I lived in the springs for a while and found it to be very conservative so this sounds like a good turnout.
What would matter?
Tillis needs to listen to his messages and clear his voicemail!
We'll be posting updates as the vote proceeds, to stay tuned. You can watch a livestream of the vote on NCLeg.gov. Contact your legislators and tell them to vote NO on SB 153: acluofnc.org/sb153
I found my local indivisible group page and they have a great calendar of events for what’s coming up.
Yes for parks & monuments!
You can search women’s March and find one for your area. March for science has a page too. I’ve seen those mainly in big cities but lots of smaller women’s marches.
What days do you work? The March for science is on Friday and the women’s March is on Saturday.
Late tonight, I will deliver a response to President Trump's Congressional Address.
NO to Oligarchy. NO to Authoritarianism. YES to Democracy and an economy that works for all.
I hope you'll join us.
The Capitol Police arrested a group of peaceful protesters who demonstrated today in the Cannon House Office Building against the Trump’s decision to freeze foreign aid and lay off thousands of USAID workers. The president has made his message clear: disagree with them, and they will come after you.
If you want to make America Healthy Again, you don’t cut Medicaid or Medicare.
The US’s current debt is just over $30 trillion
The tax policy Republicans are attempting to pass today will add $20 trillion to that over the next 10yrs
Yes, the same dudes who have been waggin their fingers at us, our whole lives, about the debt being out of control, want to increase it by 66%
Good morning. The dance, whatever that means to you, is worth fighting for.
“During the darkest days of the AIDS crisis, we buried our friends in the morning, protested in the afternoon and danced all night. The dance kept us in the fight because it was the dance we were fighting for.
Yes, there are assholes in every organization. Under a different administration, this guy would have been canned so fast the energy produced could power a small town.
Under this one? He'll probably be promoted. 🤬
How much Elon Musk makes from the government a day: $8 million.
How much a senior on Social Security gets a day: $65
Guess which budget Musk and Trump want to cut?
Tweet from Scott Jennings, saying "um, yes, that's really a problem," with a quoted image saying "The problem with left-leaning media is they're intrinsically more strict with their propaganda to only using verifiable sources so it's really hard to poke holes in their ideology and arguments in comparison to a lot of low quality right-wing content. That makes attacking their points with fact checkers not very effective unless the fact checkers use misinformation tactics as well. In essence, people on the right have to work harder and more creatively to push their agendas as statistics and studies frustratingly aren't usually on our side."
This is why they're attacking science and education: if you can only win with disinformation, data become a threat.
I saw a post on another platform where there were a few MAGA replies saying they were glad he was cutting wasteful govt spending. When someone asked about the Medicaid shut down, they were like oh that was just temporary he’s not shutting that down. I think they’re being fed this is a good thing.
Oppressors try to erase history so that they can repeat it.
Vaccines prevent child deaths. Guns cause them. The Republican Party wants fewer vaccines and more guns, while simultaneously decrying the birth rate. Dystopia is used a lot lately for a reason.
Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.
We have to sustain each other. Making joy isn’t denial, it’s how we will survive
