This is particularly true because given that Trump had previously attempted a coup, Harris should have won by a supermajority. The data certainly doesn’t support voters on the left denying Harris a supermajority.

It’s hard to use the word “unambiguously” right now when the bombing might resume at any time as the ceasefire expires tomorrow.

Gonna spend the next two years spamming every elected Dem about the concept of "damnatio memoriae." Chisel his name off every inscription. Build over the various Trump Towers like they're Nero's Golden House. Remove him from physical memory, not to forget but as a sign of disrespect to the man.

But Maine is a small state - I don’t know how many obviously better than Mills recruits were at hand either. Witness Sara Gideon.

Why haven’t Ds proposed a Constitutional Amendment to prohibit the President, Vice President, and principal officers from suing the United States? Or a law stripping Courts of jurisdiction in such cases?

Nevertheless, we need to be charitable in welcoming latecomers.

The Biden Administration was full of opportunities for the Ds to claim the moral high ground on age, on abuse of the pardon power, on executive usurpation of Congressional powers, etc. and the Ds passed up almost every single one of them.

As for Raskin's bill (which has lots of practical problems), I don't think it looks convincingly not-political that he first introduced this idea during Trump's first term and now is filing it again but never mentioned it in between.

Mental fitness, like character, is fundamentally a political question. How good is good enough? In either category, only politics can answer that question - there are no experts who can answer it outside of politics.

My hot take is that the faithful execution of the laws should require the executive branch to submit a serious budget request to Congress. It would be interesting to see Congress embed in must-sign appropriations laws more direction to the executive on making a serious budget request the next year

The logical consequence then is that Senator Warner should be calling for Articles of Impeachment against Vought.

I know a couple thousands former USAID employees who would love to hear that Trump hasn’t succeed in anything. What an astonishingly freezingly cold take by Isgur.

It’s a classic case of hypocrisy being the tribute that virtue pays to vice.

There’s no plausible understanding where the attack on Iran was a “defensive” action under “just war” theory - but they keep saying it anyways.

It was necessary for the Justice who always thought that Roe was bad law to ultimately pave the way for the Nation to move past abortion-polarized politics on the Court by paving the way for Roe’s reversal.

Dems may regret not making a bigger issue out of the unconstitutional feeding of USAID into the wood-chipper, an act that Rubio’s hands are all over.

Mills genuinely has lot of strengths in terms of experience and name recognition. As long as she was interested in running, it was hard to overcome those advantages, even given the enormous disadvantage of her age. An age-limit amendment would have forced the issue.

This is where an age-limit Constitutional Amendment would benefit everyone involved. We’re so used to treating “more choice” as an unalloyed good that we lose sight of the fact where constraints on choice can actually help improve outcomes.

It remains depressing that an idea this deeply flawed has already gained this much traction.

The problem with the first point is that it's just profoundly misleading. On the left is WaPo's graph, which looks just at income taxes. On the right is @itep.org's version that looks at all taxes. Just a radically different picture, because WaPo left out HALF of taxes paid. Crazy!

Democrats aught to get a “troll poll” out there asking “How likely is it that Donald Trump is the AntiChrist?” just to keep this news cycle going….

And the results would legit be fascinating.
