The Biden Administration was full of opportunities for the Ds to claim the moral high ground on age, on abuse of the pardon power, on executive usurpation of Congressional powers, etc. and the Ds passed up almost every single one of them.
As for Raskin's bill (which has lots of practical problems), I don't think it looks convincingly not-political that he first introduced this idea during Trump's first term and now is filing it again but never mentioned it in between.
Mental fitness, like character, is fundamentally a political question. How good is good enough? In either category, only politics can answer that question - there are no experts who can answer it outside of politics.

Mills genuinely has lot of strengths in terms of experience and name recognition. As long as she was interested in running, it was hard to overcome those advantages, even given the enormous disadvantage of her age. An age-limit amendment would have forced the issue.
This is where an age-limit Constitutional Amendment would benefit everyone involved. We’re so used to treating “more choice” as an unalloyed good that we lose sight of the fact where constraints on choice can actually help improve outcomes.
It remains depressing that an idea this deeply flawed has already gained this much traction.

The problem with the first point is that it's just profoundly misleading. On the left is WaPo's graph, which looks just at income taxes. On the right is @itep.org's version that looks at all taxes. Just a radically different picture, because WaPo left out HALF of taxes paid. Crazy!
