The fluke 2024 run really fucked this franchise up long term
Because she's too old.
No one 65+ should be allowed to run for office. Full stop.
Until they die in office or become senile, and then it's not
Get the cops under control before they seriously hurt someone (again)
My kingdom for a toll on every vehicle entering JFK's terminals, to be used to reduce the cost of the airtrain 🙏
THREAD:
for [eyeblack], here are five (5) domestic violence accusations against a former MLB star that league investigators allegedly reviewed before allowing him to play without any discipline. www.readeyeblack.com/p/your-life-...
It’s an indictment of our political leadership that the deed theft dispute that sparked this protest involves real estate investors that were exposed by The City 3 years ago for doing exactly this kinda thing and nothing preventative has been done since! www.thecity.nyc/2023/07/13/e...
Outrageous. @chiosse.bsky.social was protecting one of his neighbors from eviction, as a result of deed theft — a plague in Central Brooklyn right now. There was no reason for NYPD officers to roughly throw him to the ground. It sure doesn’t make anyone safer. Release him now.
Shut up, nerd
2000+ words about the "quality of life" on BART and no mention of san francisco's dual programs for violently clearly homeless encampments and shipping those people out of the bay?
Mamdani didn't need Obama to win, but Obama needs Mamdani to remain well liked by the under 40s (the only thing he's cared about since leaving office) and I find that dynamic extremely amusing lol
Seeing a lot of out-of-state plates recently? This form of insurance fraud has soared under Gov. Hochul to more than $50 million per year, with out-of-state plate scams more than doubling, according to the state’s own figures.
PSA: the (very) limited IMAX/PLF re-releases of Top Gun (for the 40th anniversary) and Maverick are on sale. Screenings already selling out so get em fast

“We know very well what we oppose; what are we for? That is a question that I think we have to be able to answer: what are we fighting for?”
The montauk branch is what, 2% of LIRR ridership? Less relevant sure, it's not massive, but it would definitely impact data like this is all I'm saying
The extreme depth of GC Madison makes it so there are few places outside of Midtown East that are faster to get to than you would be just going to Penn. That and its inability to handle double decker diesel trains really limits its usefulness to riders, i imagine
But you see, we cannot do that because existing landowners might not maintain their units properly if they can't Maximize Value and/or we might discourage other private landowners from having new rental units constructed.
All we have to do is build and this problem fixes itself! 😃
once you ignore minor and pesky things like distributional effects on who gets access to the highest productivity regions in the country, it's obvious that this is clearly an optimal price clearing policy and no interventions are required.
First time I can recall the Mets posts overtaking the politics and movie posts on my feed for quite some time.
I'm sure that means things are great! 😃
Told this guy i didn't wanna get into it with him anymore, deliberately whited out his name, and hours later he's pulling up my profile to jump back in my mentions.
I am beggin y'all to touch grass 🙏
Anyway, much as I would love China's top down housing model where they have far fewer homeless and far more homeowners than our capitalist hellscape, there are moderate alternatives for decomodifying housing: www.swissinfo.ch/eng/swiss-ab...
These people are incapable of recognizing how landowners are massively enriched by upzoning. Their property is an appreciating asset even before the tax breaks yimnys want to give them.
We, the people who live in these cities, are the reason why those assets appreciate in the first place.
The cognitive dissonance of yimbys never ceases to amaze.
"Builder" as an Orwellian euphemism for landowner (they don't "build" anything, labor does) and framing them as our savior against landlords when that's exactly what they become once construction is completed.
Do we have a single dem governor in this country who doesn't suck? Serious question
Your belief that principled opposition to mass exploitation and suffering is a "soapbox" has made it clear there's no room for discussion here. Gonna pass on engaging with you further.
Yea i thought that's what you meant, but i wanted to be sure before responding:
No, we should not be giving tax breaks to capitalists. Corporate welfare is not progressive. If land owners won't build affordable housing, we need to take their land and do it ourselves.
Gonna need Literally Florida to have a seat and stop talking shit about "corruption" in other states, thanks
Could you elaborate on what you mean there?
