Samoa vs Tonga 50–5
🇼🇸🇫🇯🇹🇴 #OceaniaRugby Championship
An extremely unexperienced Samoa (11 uncapped players!) takes the win against a Tonga that resisted them more than they probably expected.
10–5 at halftime, Manusina broke the game after the rest with 6 uncontested tries.
They'll face Fiji on Saturday for the title.

Got our solar panels installed this AM. They came at 8:30am and we're gone by 1:30pm. 13 panels and 10kwh battery.
We can't export to the grid yet (the network operator has been flooded with new requests) but we charged our car with the sun this afternoon. Great feeling, strongly recommend.
That's a huge shame
Sorry does that say 85???
A good parallel to McKenzie Martin is Chandler Cunningham-South.
Both about the same age and had decent showings at the 2023 U20 RWC.
CCS has 23 caps and nearly 4000 mins of pro rugby under his belt
Martin has 5 caps and 1100 mins of pro rugby.

Fwiw this is something a friend who works for Bristol Bears mentioned about their Millenium stadium game last year...
Bath had already secured top spot in the Prem, so sent out a second team, who got whipped and lost 36-14
He thought the game wasn't great, and not Bath 1st XV
Crowd didn't care.
A world rugby report last year found that the main motivator for attendees at womens rugby matches is to show support for women rather than the result of the game
Thing is, if the end goal is for women’s sport to be ‘normalised’ then i worry about how long it will be till the goodwill runs out
Perhaps that isn’t sustainable in the medium term but we also can’t assume that the record crowds in the W6N won’t happen or be beaten next year because England is running up Globetrotters numbers. You do your job marketing and promoting, the people will come (at least for now)
What I’m also learning is that the crowd for the women’s game perhaps don’t have the same sensibilities about competitiveness and not coming if their team wins/loses by 50 than the men’s sports. There’s an atmosphere that people want to get to in these games regardless of the result.
France & England do have much bigger populations than the celtic nations. They're more likely to have good athletes. The success of teams like Ireland, Wales & NZ in the men's game are anomalies
It's also worth remembering that England/France were dominating before professionalism (2019 for RR) in the women's game too, in a degree the men's never had
There was also a big exodus to 7s in 2015/16 for England players
Think there's more people at the u21 game than the first international I went to. The record 3994 crowd 4 years ago felt so special and that the team were starting to get the support they deserved. Selling out the Hive 2 years ago felt huge. But 28,000+ today, it's come so quickly and it's amazing
France dominate the ball-in-hand stats so far this Women’s Six Nations. They have the most:
Carries
Dominant carries
Carry metres made
Post contact metres
Post contact metres per carry
Initial breaks
Meanwhile, from a player point of view… 🧵
Swansea born flankers are known for their scrupulous fair play. He is a massive statistical outlier.
As opposed to the Infedelity Insecuredrive Tigers?
I mean, come on lads.
The turnover he wins on the 50th minute where 9 is about to play the ball and Jac blasts one player out the ruck, gets back to his feet and blasts two more is one of the most freakish things I've ever seen in a rugby pitch.
Toon always lose mate
johan lange is quietly building the best wide receiver program in europe and if spurs can find a good QB i could see them competing for bowls next year
44 points minimum needed for URC play offs with 3/4 games to go
I love this. I love how they’ve just fully embraced Italy and are loving it and it shows in their performances. More British players should go abroad.
Not even radio coverage.
Women’s six nations is currently 16/16 off the goal kicking tee today
It’s terrible there’s a big enough fault that it’s well known. However, frankly the Women’s Six Nations shouldn’t be hidden away on iPlayer when the BBC has exclusive rights in the UK.
