Some of the reactions to De Zerbi and Spurs are absolutely hilarious. Everyone gasses up Mikel Arteta despite his support for Partey. Pep Guardiola spoke up in court in defence of Mendy. If you point out the hypocrisy they'll say you're doing whataboutism.

So it was Vinai the sporting director who had Thomas Partey's back, not Mikel Arteta the manager. But it was De Zerbi the manager who had Mason Greenwood's back, not Marseille's sporting director.
Common sense. The idea that he should be punished is insane and emblematic of the stupidity of today's over-woke society. They made it look like he took a bazooka and fired shots at the ball boy.
I watched the game in a discord filled almost entirely with Premier League fans and they couldn't believe how much the referee was calling blatant Liverpool fouls during attacking set pieces. The PL is just a stupid league.

Coincidence? I think not.
It was a goal kick. Bizot was also slightly nudged by a Brighton player with the ball in the air.
@rwohan.bsky.social this needs an edit
Unless there's another video, this is quite clearly not a foul. Y'all need to check yourselves.
Liverpool lie a lot about transfers.

A very worthwhile gamble for Spurs.

NEW with @simonkuper.bsky.social:
The prevailing narrative around increased injuries and player workload in elite football is wrong.
Players donβt play any more football than in the past. What has changed is a sharp rise in intensity of play.
Not more minutes, but each minute exerts more load.
I have recorded 125 various injury entries for Steph Curry in his NBA career. This will be the first hamstring-related injury of note.
A decade of owning Houston lol. All jokes aside, they barely survived this one off the back of a heroic Buddy Hield performance and great defense by the vets. Steph did so many subtly great things.
Chelsea excels at attacking space, creating fast-break opportunities through natural turnovers and artificially (baiting opposition press). Sharper decisions with the ball in the second half against Liverpool could have led to a couple more goals
The Nuggets outscored the Clippers by 33 points in Kawhi Leonard's 33 minutes
The previous worst +/- for Leonard's postseason career was -21, last set in 2020 Game 7 vs the Nuggets.
Arsenal had 4, not 10.
If your club needs an erratic forward, sure why not.

Your model greatly overestimated the Martinelli shot in the 40th minute. 0.83 surely too high.

Last night's 17-point effort snapped Steph Curry's streak of 17 playoff games with at least 20 points.
Perhaps the good news in that for the Warriors is they've now won 3 straight playoff games (and 7 of the last 9) when Curry doesn't get his 20.

Achraf Hakimi has been dribbled past more times (22) than any other player in the #UCL this season. π
Something for Gabriel Martinelli to exploit tonight... π
