A few years back Make-a-Wish reached out to me. There was a kid whose dream was to create a game inspired by The Mandalorian. I invited him over, and together we built a game fulfilling his dream! ✨ (The game can't be shared, for legal reasons)
Please be kind to each other!

Silicon Graphics Indy workstation
Another school IT closet rescue, a Silicon Graphics Indy Workstation!
I picked up a video adapter and it booted right up.
These machines were way out of my league when I was a kid, but now I finally get to tinker with one! It has Photoshop 2.5.2.

Meet Moxie, my new CS teaching assistant. We repurposed one of the now defunct Embodied robots using OpenMoxie. I’m going to encourage my students to reprogram him & add some new features. It’s using the OpenAI api to respond.

Apple IIe being repaired showing the Terminal and DOS version 3.3.
It’s alive! Our IT department raided the closets and dropped off some vintage tech, including this old Apple IIe. Next step is loading Oregon Trail so my students can truly appreciate how far technology has come.

As a HS game dev teacher, this is very inspiring & it will become required reading in my curriculum next week :) Thanks for creating such an innovative & amazing product.
I spent countless hours stumbling through Legacy of a Wizard, and I’ll never forget finally getting to use the son at the end. It definitely had those early metroidvania vibes. This is right up there with Crystalis, Faxanadu, and Destiny of an Emperor as some of my all-time childhood NES favorites.
Bottom one for me as well
Working on lesson plans for an AI class with Stable-Retro, a retrogame tool with reinforcement learning. I gave it one incentive—points. Instead of beating the level, it figured out how to spawn the same mob & farmed points until time ran out. This will make a great lesson on incentives & outcomes.
I teach high school game development and enjoy creating examples for my students.
