Yeah, I'm guessing due to the show itself being obscure and its DVD probably was printed in limited quantities, it's quite sought after online.

"Do you believe in god?"

At a film store in Finland, I was fortunate to find a DVD copy of Xavier Renegade Angel. Never had I thought I'd see a copy in the wilds, no less one at an affordable price.

It's one of my favorite absurdist shows, and I'm glad to now finally have a copy. Curelicious.

Itoi: But so-called arcade games have a vibe similar to gay magazines. It's a closed world, a world outsiders don't understand, where like-minded people gather as their circle shrinks. Like narrowing concentric circles. So I think it's really important that what I did this time with MOTHER went in a different direction.

Shigesato Itoi back in 1989 casually calling arcade game fans homosexuals. If only he knew how right he was....

Lots of games-as-art discussions conflate playing games with experiencing them and, as a consequence, think that interpretation has to exist as an in-game act. IMO this isnt true, you interpret & experience an interaction, the interaction itself isn't your interpretation necessarily

Video games don't age.

The only thing that ages are people's perception and thoughts of video games.

edited Heathcliff cartoon.

Heathcliff the cat pauses on his way through what looks like a metal detector leading into the den of the Nutmeg home.

At the top of the detector, beneath a flashing red beacon light, the words "Him Detector" are written.

From the den, Granny Nutmeg explains to her visiting friend, "It's him."

One thing I appreciate about old internet humor is how blunt it was. Look at this image. Adding ANYTHING ruins the joke. It's perfect. Why? Because some guy on a message board went "I really want to dunk on this game, what's the least work I can do to get my point across." Pure Distilled Comedy.

Ngl, CDs are pretty underrated.

It's especially cool to find more obscure stuff, as well as the simplicity and convenience of ripping them to FLAC. SACDs are also hella rad, though they tend to be pricier and requiring its own way of ripping. In my case, I use a compatible Blu-ray player to rip.

I have been critical of mainly the existence of recent video game remakes in the past.

But as I've been playing the Mega Man X Viral Nightmare demo and X8 16-bit, I can't help but admire how people took bad or just flawed games like MMX6 and X8, and turned them into something fantastic.

So I decided to change it just a little again to "D4RK_S". Mainly so that it stands out just a bit more than just "D4RK", and in places like Letterboxd, the name's taken. So it's mainly to make it a bit more unique.

Even going back to around 2017 or 2018, I kinda cringed at that name. Just being called "Dark" sounds more natural and less cringe to me, so that's why I'm thinking of simplifying it so that it's (hopefully) less cringe in the long run.

It's been 15 years since I've made the DarkSparkish YT channel which started my online presence, but having thought of it for a while I will start changing the name.

You might notice that I now go by D4RK on here and also on Discord. I'll slowly but surely implement the name change elsewhere.
