It's International Asexuality Day today!

Inspired by my experiences of coming out as asexual, I have written a zine which provides an introduction to asexuality for those newer to this invisible sexual orientation.

Had to take the "She's 17, Scott" meme up a notch
Explanation:
Since Tagalog pronouns are gender-neutral, the remark of the Philippines is both calling Scott Pilgrim out for dating a 17-year-old while he was in his 20s while correcting him by saying that the country is actually on its 17th President

Scott Pilgrim: "Wait, what?! The Philippines?! It's been a while! Kamusta? How's it like dealing with President 20?"

Philippines: "17 lang siya, Scott"

Scott Pilgrim: "AW COME ON!"

Close, but you missed an E! An actual anagram would be:
“SENATOR LINDSEY GRAHAM” = “HAD ISRAEL MONEY GRANTS”

Not quite. A phrase with 19 letters can't be anagrammed to a phrase with 28 letters. The shorter phrase is, however, an anagram for "blown-out theater move"

How else can these forty-odd letters be arranged?

To be self-ordered and create the ghostly answer.

With all due respect, the conservative martial artist Chuck Norris actually died on the 19th. The TADC episode airing on the 20th only matched the date the Norris family announced his death on Instagram

While I am not Polish, I do find it somewhat hypocritical that the STEM community doesn't even try with this chemist's Polish surname while getting so particular about pronouncing Euler's surname properly. So, this is my improvement on a popular anagram of her abbreviated name being “Radium came” :)

Some hardcore Newton-bro's could slightly argue that it's currently Newton's birthday since he was born December 25th 1642 [Julian calendar in England's timezone], and it's December 25th 2024 [Julian calendar in England's timezone]. Yet ofc, England currently uses the Gregorian calendar.

Question: If it's midnight in London when it's 7 PM in New York, what time is it in London when it's midnight in New York?

Answer from the show: 5 AM

Actual answer due to DST: Either 5 AM or 4 AM

An example for 4 AM: Start from October 25th 2025, 23:00 UTC and add 5 hours

A Timezone Inaccuracy from 1% Club UK

Due to DST, this question has TWO answers. We could also start 2025-10-25 23:00:00 UTC [midnight October 26 in London & 7 PM October 25 in New York] and add 5 hours to get 2025-10-26 04:00:00 UTC [midnight October 26 in New York, but 4 AM October 26 in London].

There's also November 2026 by the way. Whenever March has a Friday the 13th, so does November! :)

Here's another nerdy & numerical New Year countdown I came across! This time, for the upcoming 2026. Enjoy using this for the upcoming year! :3 #Mathematics #MathSky #MathChat #MathsChat #NewYearCountdown #NewYear2026

Personally, I'd take this with a slight grain of salt since Deadline also mistakenly hyped up an alleged Gravity Falls revival . . .
deadline.com/2024/06/disn...
. . . citing an article from The Direct that couldn't even get the year the show ended right:

There'll be another Friday the 13th in November 2026 as well! The last time we had Friday the 13th show up three times was in 2015 btw.

just cuz it came up again recently - PSA we don't have a TikTok and anyone claiming to be us on TikTok is lying. The takedown system for impersonators is one of those "send your legal name and mailing address to the person you're about to piss off" situations so it's a bit of a perennial issue -R

Long division puzzle where 2025 is being divided by a two-digit divisor to get a quotient with a three-digit integer part and with one digit after the decimal point. Each multiplication step in the procedure had a two-digit result, and each subtraction left a one-digit difference [the last subtraction gave a difference of 0]

Since this year is going to end in about 5 weeks, here's a long division puzzle I recently came up with featuring the current year. Enjoy solving it! :) #math #maths #mathematics #MathChat #MathsChat #mathpuzzle #mathspuzzle #mathematics #longdivision #longdivisionpuzzle

In fact, it's the Least Common Multiple of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7.

4 months ago 2 0 1 0

To tell if a number is divisible by 3, you can just add the digits.

2 + 4 = 6 [which is divisible by 3], so 24 is divisible by 3.
1 + 8 = 9 [which is divisible by 3], so 18 is divisible by 3 as well.
4 + 7 = 11 [which is NOT divisible by 3], so 47 is NOT divisible by 3.

Hope this tip is useful! :)

The day before could've been written as 11/22/25 and 112225 is 335². Don't feel bad for missing it, though. I unfortunately did too.

About NewsThump

Welcome to NewsThump! No, really, we mean it.
Honest.

NewsThump is a satirical and spoof news website, taking a daily swipe at current affairs from the UK and around the world. It is published and owned by Thump Publishing Limited.

We aim to be equal opportunity piss-takers and have no particular affiliation or political preference. It is our stated aim to mock absolutely everyone, eventually.

We are not afraid to skip a few steps like checking facts or corroborating sources, and we never let the truth ruin a funny story (it’s much easier just to make everything up). So, for clarification – If you read a story on here, then you are NOT supposed to believe it. It has been completely made up purely for entertainment purposes. It’s also worth noting that we regularly use rude words and stuff, so you need to be 18 to be reading this. As much as I hate what's going on the USA right now, I fear that spreading stuff from British satirical website NewsThump as if it were real news may be doing more harm than good. Here's a screenshot of the headline with the source listed and another screenshot from the source's About Us page

While I don't really buy into numerology, there is indeed a system for that. If you start at A = 49, B = 50, C = 51, and so on up to Z = 74 then the phrase "DONALD TRUMP" would coincidentally add up to 666.

Also, the final Z = 74 happened to match his age in 2020. Do with that info what you will

The explicit formula for the nth term of the sequence 10, 15, 25, 40, 65, 105, 170, and so on [adding the two previous terms to get the next term] starting at n = 1. The 30th term in this case would be 10891545

The first answer I saw was 65. However, I do admit that the other answer of 60 also makes sense and would make it much easier to find the general nth term :)
