Watching #TheDayOfTheJackal and one guy is “writing a program to make a 3D printed sniper rifle” but he’s got one arm so he has to dictate the code to the other guy.

HE STARTS SPEAKING RAW GCODE while the other guy types it

And I have no one to talk to about this

Go to the gym on the 1st or 2nd to see how many people make a resolution. Go on the 20th to see how many kept it up

I hate when a language or framework makes me do stupid stuff just to get it to work.

If there are docs, noone will read them.
If there are no docs, everyone will complain.

researchers studying non human animal cognition get laughed out of science if they use a word like “knows” or “understands” about an animal (a being with a brain) but every AI paper is all “the model appears to be aware it is being intentionally deceptive and in fact is afraid of being caught”

"Healthcare" was the target in overturning Roe.

"Health Insurance" is the target of this murder.

The distinction is purposely muddled here.

Health insurance makes money denying Healthcare.

"Native" in this context, has the 1800's Wild West pejorative tone.

"Digital native" keeps getting used as "knows how to use software and the internet wisely and academically" as opposed to "uses lots of apps all the time" and that is a huge failure.

The flip side is leading companies in a market asking for regulations so that it increases the hurdles to new players challenging their dominance. Some (not all) regulations exist only to harm profits to enable monopolies

Got everything I need to make an ESP32 solar powered (with battery backup) moisture meter. Now I need to break out my soldering skills, not used since the 90s

You never know, our 3 month old was so good on a 12 hour flight from SF to NZ that the people behind us didn't even know we had a kid.

Why are spending limits not default turned on for every product. How can I be allowed to use your service on credit?

So ubiquitous that fearing it was pointless? Like people are not actively afraid of heart disease today, even though it is #1 in USA. No body is shaking in their boots while driving past a McDonald's, but there has been a rise in fear of killer clowns!

I worked at a company that implemented an e-commerce site on top of sharepoint because the CEO said to. The site had millions of users and was a horrific hack. That is my only experience with sharepoint

I really like flutter and dart. It is easy to get stuff built.

The thing I most like is I can use my own environment and not spend 6months battling XCode or Android Studio to get a hello world app built.

Screen with Blood Glucose and other information for Diabetics

I am writing a T1D app that makes it easier for me to manage my son's diabetes. Still a few months away from general release, but coming along nicely. I wrote it in flutter so should be available on iOS, Android and MacOS once released. I plan to opensource, and will be free.
