ETCH is not another AI nonprofit. It is a nonprofit that explicitly prioritizes people over AI.
Tried that approach first, couldn't really get it to look good. if it's just for a still render it's almost always better to just use image planes for things like this

I'm not trying to discredit your view or anything, it's just this is clearly meant to be a different thing set in the same universe. There's a bunch of mad timeline stuff in Marathon so they're kinda free to do whatever. I'm mainly here for the gameplay but I do love the story and world of Marathon
