Seriously though, this makes me nervous. Learfield powers UM's broadcasts and athletics website, and reportedly 1200 other college sites.
Private equity ultimately squeezes all they can out of stuff they own, and shed the scraps of whatever's left. Adding value isn't in their mission statement.
Maybe TPG can help get more than 8 different commercials into the rotation during UM game broadcasts (run by Learfield).
"Hey, you ever wish you had a pub you could call home? Well how 'bout this?" That has been seared into my brain.
UMMBB has picked up a portal addition: Jordan Clayton, who just finished his junior year with Northwestern.
Clayton comes home to MA, being a native of Medford.
The 6-2 point guard could be a backup for Danny Carbuccia, assuming of course we retain Danny.

Thanks for the recognition on those stats. It'll be interesting to see if anyone else hits the Portal.
Yeah, we can't rely on freshmen, but most of our D2/JuCo incomers didn't light up the stat sheet either. It's all unpredictable.
With yesterday's news of K'Jei Parker doing the in-conference transfer, we've updated our '26-27 page, including some reports of non-conference game dates.
Give us a shout if you see anything we missed.

Damn, that's a big cat.
I checked him out. Played 11 games in Spring '96.
From the "You can't teach size" file...
Played in the NBA despite never having played a game in college.
Wikipedia claims "Rockets legend Calvin Murphy nicknamed him "2 Sandwiches" in his tenure with Houston."

I need to know more about the fan experience in the first three rows behind home plate. They look like they all have Compaq laptops on little tables.
I’m gonna sound like an old guy or whatever but… Seeing a lot of players entering the portal for the 2nd/3rd/4th time who had solid seasons this year. Perhaps they had a good year cuz they were at the right place?
Tons of articles from back in the day on that page, but I also broke it all down with a really long Twitter thread, split into two parts.

30 years ago today: UMass vs Kentucky in the Final Four.
We came up short, 81-74, but that whole season was quite a ride and one those of us who were around for it will never forget.

Good news for UMWBB as Coach Leflar has been extended.
In his three seasons, he took the Minutewomen from an almost full rebuild to a 23-7 campaign.

It still blows my mind that a championship caliber team would play a couple games a year 100 miles away from their core base.
That's brutal for Hawks fans, but I guess any TV is better than no TV.

Congrats to Leo Bettiol for getting named All-Tournament Team. He shot 18-27 (67%) from the floor in our two games, and averaged 23 points and 7 rebounds.
He was the only honoree whose team wasn't in the championship game.

Any whining from Travis Steele about being relegated to the First Four?
I noticed that too. Fantastic.
If you’re an AEC caliber player are you gonna go just outside Baltimore or just outside Portsmouth?
I have two Pats jerseys: Ty Law and this guy.
Dude was an unsung hero.
Folks, we are going to the Garden. Last place two months ago
OK I see now why he was out for so long. He was a -23.
Frank's been vocal about it all season. Just can't defend effectively.
We have the memories, for sure.
Kinda sorry to have been right on that one.
