porter, my understanding is they codeshare with american now so the new preclearance setup at the toronto island airport will let them do domestic transfers at o'hare
i love opportunities for meetings and incentives
i'm pissed my preferred airline for toronto is moving from flying out of midway to o'hare in september

the other thing i got out of this which i had wanted to do for a long time was finally learn 五十音順 so i can go through shelves faster at kbooks
well I've been able to read it for a while and it's way easier to tell apart handwritten
in theory I already know "how to write" kanji since stroke order is one of the few things I retained from being forced to learn chinese, it's just a matter of recall (as opposed to kana which are totally new letterforms)
hiragana "feels" more like brush strokes and was easier to do with a marker on whiteboard than with pen. I found あおなはほみめるろを challenging but eventually got the shapes down with practice. むきさ were confusing at first because typeset form doesn't quite match written form. すぬねれわ still look like shit
oh yeah so it turns out it only took a few days of drilling to get both katakana and hiragana down, katakana was a lot easier because it's more angular and the strokes feel closer to how you'd write latin characters
Speaking of BL manga about disaster gay nerds, I haven’t really mentioned it since I don’t like talking about work in public anymore, but more people should check out this series: bsky.app/profile/jnov...
