Cricket doesn’t get much better than this really.

Beautiful ground, Sun shining, Kate Cross & Mahika Gaur bowling in tandem

Ellie Threlkeld & Fi Morris in the runs

What more do you want??

That’s an uneven punishment with the rest of the game.

In other formats and in the mens game of the bat fails the tests it’s normally a penalty point reduction. Feels unequal treatment that

England women have not played a competitive game since October last year.
Had no cricket over the winter due to the FTP being full and have been playing games between themselves since.

Now rather than playing competitive fixtures they are in another camp, baffling way to prep for a WC

You don’t get free streams in every other sport, why should you get it in cricket?

6 days ago 0 0 0 0

Given how much it costs a year for the streaming to get out on £250k and the fact that members don’t get anything back from the streaming I’m all for it.

Almost as if the head coach doesn’t want them to play county cricket, even though she has said that they should be.
Funny that.

Disappointing to see no women in the Wisden 5 this year.

While there might not have been international performances there were domestic performances worthy of selection.

This is where I’ve thought for a while we need to get away from idea of a national broadcaster being responsible for everything. There is only so much that one group can do, I’d rather other groups took over the mantra of covering some sports instead.

But then they have never said that they will always cover everything. And tbh given the state of some of the comms when they have covered women’s games I’d rather they didn’t bother than doing half arsed job to say they are covering it

The BBC doesn’t cover mens or womens white balls games 100%
They haven’t for a couple of years.

I’m afraid it definitely looks like a Durham Duck.
We don’t do Ducks in Lancashire, only Giraffes

Looks alright here today, and tomorrow is looking more and more promising so we might get lucky.

This is remarkable bowling

I trust Beaumont to be able to deal with the pressure of a final and make runs, than I do Perrin.
Everyone looks at that Perrin knock in The Hundred and thinks that’s it, but having seen other knocks from her I don’t think she’s near ready for a WC final.

Which is why you have a spare keeper in the side. They don’t have to be a full time keeper, but they need to be able to keep.

1 week ago 0 0 1 0

Given how badly this side has been performing under the both the last and current regimes, yes I will say it.
You speak to professional players, they want to play competitive games to progress.

The argument I always take is this.
If they are in the squad would you be happy for them to play their first game in the WC final at home in a full house. I would not be happy putting Perrin, TCC etc in that situation.

You have to have someone in the squad that can keep if someone gets injured on the day. You can’t have a replacement to the squad immediately on the day.
