I trust Beaumont to be able to deal with the pressure of a final and make runs, than I do Perrin.
Everyone looks at that Perrin knock in The Hundred and thinks that’s it, but having seen other knocks from her I don’t think she’s near ready for a WC final.
Which is why you have a spare keeper in the side. They don’t have to be a full time keeper, but they need to be able to keep.
Given how badly this side has been performing under the both the last and current regimes, yes I will say it.
You speak to professional players, they want to play competitive games to progress.
The argument I always take is this.
If they are in the squad would you be happy for them to play their first game in the WC final at home in a full house. I would not be happy putting Perrin, TCC etc in that situation.
You have to have someone in the squad that can keep if someone gets injured on the day. You can’t have a replacement to the squad immediately on the day.
