British Museum Launches Long-Term Loan Program to Former Colonies The British Museum has launched a new scheme that will see it share artifacts in its collection with museums in former British colonies.

Describing the “loan” of objects taken through colonial violence as “positive” or “very innovative” doesn’t hold up. It leaves the colonial system that put those objects there completely intact.

On this day 70 years ago, Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a Montgomery bus.

On display at UT Libraries are these sketches done by Beauford Delaney, which precede his Rosa Parks series. They include phrases like "Ain't getting up" and "I will not be moved."
