Had a fantastic time at #Codemotion #Madrid. Speaking was great, but the real highlight was meeting and talking with so many amazing people 🤩
P.S. It was my first talk as a Java Champion 🎉

Exactly. You spend X hours commuting to "work remotely from an office", with worse equipment, worse setup and less comfortable.
And yet, companies still justify this with BS messages like: but in the office there are synergies and the "magic happens" 🤷
8 years ago I was in Rome at Codemotion in a completely packed room talking about #Vavr
Next week I'll be at #Codemotion in Madrid, this time talking about the new features in @spring.io
Hope to see you there!

El año pasado en JMad se habló de rendimiento en la #JVM, de arquitecturas, de testing, de nuevas features en #Java... Temas que nadie había cerrado porque los propusieron los asistentes.

The new year brought some unexpected news: I've been impacted by a restructure at Broadcom.
Now open to new opportunities as a Senior/Staff Java Developer (remote from Madrid).

🍃 #Spring Framework 7.0.2 includes several enhancements for retry support.
⏰ Timeouts in @Retryable and RetryPolicy
🛠️ New onRetryableExecution() listener callback, exposes the current retry count, etc.
👍🏻 @EnableResilientMethods now participates in globally enforced target class proxying
I have colleagues that use Linux and have their laptops monitored with some agent. There is Linux software for that, but IT departments prefer to not worry about, I don't know, 1% of employees that will choose Linux 🤷🏼
The real problem with big companies and Linux on the desktop is that they want to control their employees laptops and install all kind of "spyware". For Win/Mac there are plenty of options. For Linux they need to invest more time and resources and they don't really give a sh*t.
