That's totally fair! I completely understand wanting to give up on taping, I myself have stopped for like 2 years until I decided to try baby powder since my brain figured 'well if it stops babies from having rashes bc of glue...' so now I recommend it to everyone 😭 Hope it works for you too!!!!
when using powder before taping up, it causes less friction and makes it easier to take off when you're done with them, for me it never caused glue to hold less unless i actually pulled with intention to take tapes off + when taking off it hurt way less and there was less glue residue left on skin

have you tried baby powder maybe? the kind for rashes. it's not a tip i see often but it was a life saver for me & my partner, making wearing tapes extremely easier and less painful

You should know that the infamous I Love You virus uses the same trick - Always make sure to turn on 'show file extensions' in your windows/browser settings.
