My heart goes out to the Columbine community and all those affected by gun violence. I will always fight to protect our children and our communities, and I will not stop until we pass commonsense gun safety legislation at the federal level.

Today we remember the horrific tragedy of the Columbine shooting. 27 years later, it is a disgrace that gun violence is still the leading cause of death for children in America.

I pronounce the argument that Americans need guns to protect us from a tyrannical government officially dead. Kaput. We're living under a tyrannical government and the only people suffering from gun violence are innocent children and civilians. No one's using them against this government.

Yesterday, I had announced that I was tired and might take a nap after I had lunch. After eating, I told my husband I was going to take a nap. He told me he'd preheated my side of the bed by turning on my electric blanket 20 minutes earlier.
