I've got some exciting news...
As a way of saying thank you to the TTRPG community for all the love and support y'all have given me for Breathless over the years, I decided to fully revamp the original pamphlet and giive it for free for y'all to enjoy some zombie survival horror gaming ^^
Enjoy ❤️!

Thank you!
Finally got to finish my article about too much success in RPG and writing and how that concept can help make stories more interesting. Games mentioned as examples: #cthulhudark, @gshowitt.bsky.social's #nicemarines, #spaceaces, and @shawntomkin.bsky.social's #Ironsworn.
I got my hands on Czech version of @buttonshy.bsky.social' Stew. It's only 18 cards, but what a mind-reading exercise! I know the chicken isn't in the stew. But where is garlic? Did they use it to chase away racoon? Or did they put BOTH in the stew and they're worth only one point? The uncertainty!
I finally got to enjoy a few quiet moments, so I tried the newest iteration of #Entity, Hyperion. It comes with ready locations and encounters, so it's ideal for playing in short bursts. I quite enjoyed my fist several encounters and I'll be definitely playing more of it.

This year was interesting. My short stories scored well in two different competitions. One of them finished on 5-10th place out of more than 200 entries, other two ended 1st and 3rd in a monthly competition. All three were subsequently published in collections of stories from those competitions.
Alright, it's time...
This is Voidlight: A rules-bright sci-fi horror dungeon crawl where your only safety is a beam of light that shrinks every ten minutes.
Light on rules, bound to the dark.
100 playtesters battle tested this game and it's finally available!

Canvas Board game in progress
Canvas, a finished painting
Canvas, a finished painting 2
A family evening of #CanvasBoardGame. I love both the aesthetic and the gameplay. Rules are easy, but the possibilities wide without becoming overwhelming. The feeling of finishing a unique "painting is a nice bonus.

Quests over Coffee with actual cup of coffee
Quests over Coffee with actual cup of coffee, detail
Trying out #QuestsOverCoffee by @shenbotmakes.bsky.social. I really like the simplicity, the cozy look and the fact that I can really play a game in 10 minutes while drinking coffee.
I plan on more experiments in this space between writing and a game, hopefully I'll be able to share some results soon!
The versatility of #Ironsworn and #Storytellers tables is apparent, but for writers there is also value in specialized or genre typical like the ones from #captainslog and #vaesen. And of course #spaceaces, because sometimes you need a sonic towel or holo boomerang and no other game gives it to you.
A stack of board games and RPGs.
Rulebooks of Ironsworn, Space Aces, Vaesen, Captain's Log and Storytellers.
I've had the opportunity to talk to my fellow (mostly) amateur writers about using #boardgames and #ttrpg (especially the random tables) as a tool for #writing. Not surprisingly, most of them are not giant nerds as myself and had no idea of such possibilities, not to mention the process itself.
Thanks! It's Saturday, time for some Sojourning and Spirit restoration.
Meme Mom in pool with kids, mom labeled My character, the kid she is holding is labeled Cool delve site I found, the struggling kid is labeled My Quest starter vow. Under that, a skeleton is labeled My background vow.
There is Your planet is now marked for death meme, two characters asking why, and being told "Because that guy over there rolled a Miss with a match on their Fulfill your vow roll.
I don't know about you but I've had a long and difficult day. So I unwinded by making some #Ironsworn memes. If your day was difficult as well, they might help you cheer up. Sometimes we need to do something unproductive.

A red moon eclipse. Spaghetti bolognese were spilled this night or something.
I don't know Wild Talents, I'll have a look at it, thanks!
Conducting research for my next blog.
Did you play a #ttrpg where you could succeed too much? Where the highest degree of success was not always desirable?
Or maybe you homebrewed something like this to a system that didn't have this rule?
Image is purely illustrative.

#SelfPromoSaturday time once again!

Thanks for the space!
My newest project is #onepagerpg made for @onepagerpgjam.bsky.social (Un)Helpful Robots. The humans in future are completely inept, and it falls to robots like you to take care of them and the space station. But sometimes you help too much...

Finished Yumi and the Nightmare Painter by @brandonsanderson.com. I'm too old to be the target audiencie, but did I enjoy this book! I liked it even better than Mistborn, and I liked that one! And so many lessons for an amateur writer like me.
11/10 would stack stones again

That process sounds so illogical, right? :D
Some older Czech games used Pán jeskyně (lord of the cave - obviously an indirect translation of Dungeon Master and Pán hry (literally Lord of the Game). Not too subtle.
The Campmaster's Guide to Survival used Campmaster - this was my friend's submission to Summer Camp themed Pocket Quest.
Lovely discussion of Ironsworn past and future with @thebadspot.bsky.social and @errantadventurespod.com

I also never actually got to playing Blades, just listened to actual play by @errantadventurespod.com some time ago, but those flashbacks and "shrodinger's inventory" (I forgot what it's actually called :D ) are certainly very interesting concepts.
Glad you liked the blog!
Not every game is for everyone, and that's fine. But I think #Ironsworn also has a lot of value in that how well it conveys the philosophy of "play to find out" approach. Not to mention the Oracles.
Wow, this reached 30 reads in less then 24 hours, which is more than the whole blog had until today :) Thanks, #ironsworn community, you're the best!
I'm planning to continue writing, mainly about less known and indie RPGs. Obviously I'm not chasing numbers, but more is coming if you're interested!
A short and a bit personal article about how #ironsworn by @shawntomkin.bsky.social changed the way I'm looking at #TTRPG and made me realize a lot of things. medium.com/@gorgonhead/...
(Un)Helpful Robots, a #onepageRPG about robots helping inept hopeless humans but sometimes succeeding too much. My submission to #OnePageRPGJam2025, suitable also for playing with kids.
